Strengthening Flood Resilience in Jordan

Despite being one of the most water-scarce countries in the world, floods are a common hazard in Jordan. Their intensity and frequency is expected to increase due to climate change. Unless we act now, conditions in Jordan will only get worse. So, what can we do?

Using the Zurich Flood Resilience Alliance’s tried and tested measurement tools, Mercy Corps evaluated existing levels of resilience in the community, in order to identify the best way forward.
