I hate the argument of "the earth has been through worse". Yeah it has. WHEN WE WEREN'T ON IT.

The lady coming on and sharing her own experience, that was sooo powerful to hear and I hope she will find a way to move past this. I cannot imagine what she went through and don't have the proper words to express how much I wish her all the best!!!

We're always in touch with the trees. Our property is surrounded by them. They're our trees.
We pay extra insurance in order for them to remain close to the house.
They will stand for as long as we own this property.
And every day I remind them they'll stay😊

My sister lives in Scotland and no frost this winter! I live in Australia and this winter in the far north it was very wet and am in dread of the summer to come. I heard from a friend her son who lives in eastern WA had an expected temp. of 53C last summer. My son fights climate change on a daily basis only to find that where money talks, the thought of stopping of the money coming in scares them more than climate change. I can never get passed the idea of them leaving their children a world of horrors, is difficult to understand.

Anything that could have been done to prevent climate change should have taken place in early 1980s at the latest.the planet is way past the point of saving.humanity is like a cancer patient who not only refuses the chemotherapy but continues to smoke 60 a day.

And it's not just the extraction of fossil fuels or heavy metals, it's the toxic mess they leave behind, and the boom/bust syndrome, communities devastated financially and physically, cancer clusters lead poisoning, breathing problems etc

I think most people are happy as their own comfy bubble is okay. I'm probably as guilty of this as anyone

It comes down to human nature - 1) sense of powerlessness- it's not something that most people can do something about- I'm all for doing my bit, but it seems futile, and probably is futile, unless major populated countries do their bit; 2) it's not happening right NOW - of course, once it is, it'll be too late, but it's so far into the future, its difficult for most people to appreciate the danger.

Extreme weather events are increasing much quicker than they've done in the past. The tipping point has already been reached, and it's building on itself now - so the time for argument and blame have passed - we gotta get ready for what's coming, and think ahead to where we are going to need to put these things, what will grow here? What will the temps be? High ground?

The irony with the former airpilot is, if all pilots stopped flying planes to contribute to climate change, it's highly unlikely he would have ever been to that mountain in Peru and had the epiphany that led him to radically change his life.

Working - Middle class is determined by a passive income. Ie, If you don't have to work to be able to exist, you're middle class (landlords for example) .... Unfortunately most working class people will never be middle class.

My favourite excuse is our country/territory/city is too small to make a difference. The US says we won't do anything until China does. But the question is moot. It is too late to prevent disaster even if we all tried our best. The next 20 years is going to be interesting.

I could be wrong but wasn't there an extra step in the guys process, where he met them with here and made some suggestion of a 3 way and then it proceeds to the rest. So its not completely cold calling it, on issue of reporting he has sort to vetted them a bit, sure I read that somewhere.

Um.. But my boss used to often use the term coconut to describe anyone from an island nation and it was certainly derogatory. I worked in retail and he would tell me to "watch those coconuts" when black people came into the store.
