Do I Regret Buying My Corvette C8 and Paying Over MSRP? #corvette #supercars #corvettelifestyle

The C8 has been the most transcending corvette ever made and has been one of the hardest cars to get over the past 3 years. Once I saw the car in person at the 2020 Chicago auto show, I knew had to get one. Because of the pandemic, part shortages and production shut downs it wasn't an easy task. Many early owners found themselves paying some form of mark up to get their hands on one and I just happened to be one of them. So with 2 years of ownership closing in I always here criticism and bashing for people who decided to pay the markup and get a car. I also here its a stupid decision and the worst thing anyone could've done. Well today I'm going to address the question I get asked about regrets and would I do it all over again. Lets talk about my over MSRP corvette purchase and how do I feel about the decision I made.

We found our 2023 3LT HTC Non-Z51 with magnetic ride, front lift, performance exhaust, low spoiler, front splitter, radiator guards, and carbon flash top, nacelles, spoiler, blades, and wheels sitting in our local dealer’s showroom in St. Charles, IL. They asked for $20, 000 over, we settled on only MSRP with no add ons. They said it was because I was President of the local Corvette Club. The car had 5 miles on it when we picked it up on 08/10/23, it had 2, 210 miles on it when we had to park it for the winter because of emergency hip replacement surgery. It is the exact car we were planning on ordering, God blessed us with making what was a dream of mine after driving a friend’s 2020 C8 when they first came out. I am 75 years old and this is our second Vette and the he best vehicle I have ever driven.

Part of a luxury purchase is the financial component and the emotional component. You got a great deal on the financing but you did pay a premium which is ok because you’re emotionally satisfied with the purchase. I was on a wait list for an Eray but I found a low mileage (970) 2023 HTC 2LT Z51 with mag ride about 5 weeks ago. Similar to you, I was looking at a 911 turbo s but being an accountant I’m always cost and value conscientious. The Vette is the best value on the market for what it is. I put down about $20k and financed the remainder at 5.99% for 6 years but will pay it off in 2.5 years. You definitely got a great interest rate where I got a great price. Ultimately we both are fortunate to be in the C8 owners club.

I like your style. I recently placed an order for my 2023 Corvette at MSRP, no markup at all. BUT, They only did it because I've purchased 2 other cars from them in the last year. My sales lady is super cool with me though. I will say, I have been searching for a long time, at least the last few months on finding out if I want to order or try to buy one on the lot. Every dealer I went wants 20k over, and lowest I've found was $3500 over. I just told them NOPE. So finally my sales lady said okay, I've got ya. So I built mine to spec, and placed the order. Now I have to wait a couple of months, and I'll be rollin'. Good video, love the color too.

This car is off the charts great looking, and no Porsche even compares aesthetically.

I paid a premium for my C8 HTC Z51 and I would do it again. I got my car in 1 day. There’s people out there waiting over 2 years for there C8’s. And now they stopped production again !!

What brand and model wheels do you have (looks like yours are chrome)? I don't necessarily like chrome for the finish, but I love the style/design.

Got your C8 Stingray at Ciocca in Atlantic City for MSRP
Waited 14 months
All the Stealers in my town wanted over MSRP
I figured I saved10, 000 by driving 260 miles
To Ciocca
Definitely worth the wait

I started looking to buy a new C8 after Carlise in August. Most dealers weren’t even keeping a list. My local dealer told me that they sold for $10, 000 over MSRP and I would be the next allocation ordered in October. I decided to put my deposit and spec it out in early September. The car was ordered in October, built in late November and Delivered December 14th. I was seeing used ones for more than $10, 000 over MSRP. Instead I got exactly what I wanted, brand new, in three months. Plus, I get to enjoy it now.

Either I’m having the longest dream ever or I’m blessed. I will go with blessed. I’ve had mines for 8 months but haven’t driven it since October. I can’t wait for April. Living in the Philadelphia area we usually get a few feet of snow by now. We’ve gotten less than a quarter inch, but winter potholes are still an issue. Yes I have a garage queen but she’s coming out soon. MSRP all the way.

The Nissan Z isn’t worth it. I was disappointed with mine. The Z requires to many upgrades to bring it on par.

We need to have this conversation.
Your page will explode on this one.
Think how many C7 ZO6 owners are out there with Manual transmissions. Thought
I could of gotten.C8
I Instead to go the way of the Z06 Manual why just look on the market
its holding at around 80 grand
, a lot of owners drove c2s with 4 speed trans and will not let it go you know the manual is not being made any longer. I get it when you drove your and lached your C8 but still the manual cant be replaced
I been and have for years driving all kinds of manual corvettes check my page out
