I visit the woodland cemetery in Dayton Ohio and tell the story of Dayton’s most famous madame. She ran a legal brothel in Dayton’s red light district, and became one of the most successful business owners of her time.

I love hearing about the life stories of people who are famous for fringe reasons, like this. I think it's great that some of her girls are buried with her, too. So many interesting stories in cemeteries. thanks for sharing hers, Whitt!

I loved your expression at the beginning of this video when you say, " the world's oldest expression". 🤣 Is Pearl Str. still a red light district today? I notice that this cemetery is also an arboretum. Where was the arboretum?

I'd like to know more about her and possibility the girls she hired.my aunt lived in Dayton stayed there till she passed. Not saying I'm related just like to know more since my aunt has passed.there was other family members that came from Dayton and lived their all their lives.no matter your profession, if you respect yourself chances are others will too. So she managed to have a successful bussiness.she had be smart. Knew what it took to be successful. I m not here to judge her. I just want know more about her.maybe the girls who worked for her.women 100 years ago could have a bussiness and be successful.same as today. It is the oldest profession known to man. Let's face reality.prositutes were in the bible. Jesus forgave.so who am I to turn up my nose at what she did.i was told no matter what you do career wise be the best at it you can be.if you carry yourself in a respectable way others will respect you too.she knew how carry herself and didn't take crap of others.i imagine she hired lot people even law enforcement.to make sure she or her girls was not mistreated.abused or harmed. Thanks for showing this, its apart of history..🤔.n.j.
