I bought an Aero Scout (because of this channel) and flew an RC plane for the first time in 25 years. I love AC3X and safe, if I had these back in the old days I would have never gotten out of the hobby! So yes, I think the new technology is wonderful and will make it much easier for newbies to start out and build confidence in those of us that need a little assist as we dust our wings off.

The little "do-hickeys" on the wings are called vortex generators. They cause the air over the top of the wing to swirl and draw back onto the wing surface. They give more aileron authority at slow speeds and reduce the stall speed. Keep up the good work! You are ambassadors for the hobby, and have integrity!

Abby: "but I walked away.." Thanks Nate for the awesome, honest real world flying review and assessment. That was great! And Abby, you are SO charming, nice, and a skilled camera person. Thank you much! Time to do some right handed turns tho Abby.. we're waiting not so patiently! :)

I bought my S2 Oct 15th 2020 and my Landing Assist Module arrived yesterday. It's a 3- 4 month wait for the LAS. I have waited to fly my plane until I had this part. I'm new to the hobby and bought the Carbon cub S2 as my first plane to ensure a successful maiden flight. Now we all know that things happen but thanks to RC sailors I'm feeling confident getting started in the hobby

At 61 years old I got this as my first airplane. From the first flight take off and landing went smoothly with no LAS. My only “oops” was that tall tree that was way closer than it appeared. I even enjoyed the repair experience.

I have been watching your channel for about 8 months now. Based on everything you have said and shown, I asked for a Sport Cub S2 for my 50th bday. I bought a few extra batteries and have been loving it. This plane is what I want to get for my next one. Thank you for the fun, informative and relaxing videos!

You two make a wonderful team: Intelligent, talkative, and capable! I am sure your audience loves your constant commentary. It is frustrating when a YouTuber just shows a plane flying. Thank you for your reviews. They have definitely increased my enjoyment of the hobby. I've been flying RC since about 1970 but your reviews have helped me with evaluating the benefit of the new technology and the amazing new foam airplanes. I bought the Carbon Cub S+ for my 6 year old grandson in Australia and he could handle the controls in beginner mode beside taking off and landing. I think an inexperienced person should use an experienced one to set up the plane. You must have put the landing gear fairing on upside down to tease the audience.

Yes, please do keep sharing features like this so all of us become aware of the advances happening in the hobby! Thanks!!

I have to say I learned how to fly a Cessna 152 when I was 13 years old and always wanted to become a pilot!!! You two are the reason my wife and I are building flitetest swappables. We are both brand new to the hobby and we are in Prince Edward Island Canada!! We love your videos and have been binge watching you guys and the flitetest channel... thank you so much, we are happy we found you on here just by chance. We are also huge Star Wars fans and my wife Lisa loves your shirt .. total inspiration for us to become pilots together!!

19:30 Vortex Generators. Helps prevent airflow separation over the top of the airfoil allowing slower stall speeds and control during stalls.

"We like to fly with our pants off."... And all along I thought this was a family friendly channel. 🤔... 😊

I'd say it's good for the hobby. It's a lower threshold for beginners. I can say from personal experience, wrecking your first plane on the maiden flight is extremely discouraging. So anything that helps keep the plane from wrecking long enough to actually get experience with it is a good thing.

I’m in the “I wouldn’t have gotten into the hobby if not for the technology.” camp. I love my Carbon Cub S2. Installed the optional flaps today hope to try them tomorrow. Might make a good video for your channel. :)

I just maiden mine with flaps installed. It's a nice gentle plane and both takeoffs and landings went well. Landing sensor appears to work great (I don't have one) but it's better to practise landings instead. Anyway thanks for sharing your as always entertaining videos.

The wheel pants add rigidity to the landing gear to reduce bending of the landing gear. You can help keep them on by using mini tie wraps but eventually they break. I made a pair from some aluminum off of an old CPU cooling fan, tie wrapped them on and they work great. Just added landing lights to help visibility in the fall weather. Thanks for all you two do!

AWESOME beginner plane!! I would like to have the choice of whether or not to use landing assist. NOW, speaking as an OLD-TIMER, I can use ALL of the ASSIST I can get!! GREAT SHOW SAYLORS and thanks for the honest sharing!! 💟👍😘

The airplanes recovery mode is for when the plane is upside down or like falling it will level the plane off

I first tried my hand at model aircraft flying back when you had planes on two wires 50 years ago! It was disaster on the first flight! I now have this Carbon Cub and I bought ALL the options (LAS, GPS, etc.) I would have NOT been enticed to purchase it if had didn't have these options. I'm hoping my second attempt at model aircraft works better than my first! (I have managed to accumulate 10, 000+ hours at the controls of real airplanes between my two model aircraft attempts!)

That's some really cool technology! I'm going to teach my wife to fly RC and I think this is going to help her initially.
