Real story: before I was born my dad worked in the city, and he used to always give a homeless man a dollar or two every time he took the subway. And one night my dad was getting mugged by two guys, one of which had a knife. My dad could fight but he said he didn’t wanna risk it since the guy had a knife. So he was about to hand over the money in his wallet when the homeless man grabbed the guy with the knife by his neck and slammed him into the ground. He dropped the knife. Both of them ran away when the homeless guy grabbed his knife. My dad always gave him more money after that.

True story: I was in DTLA and I couldn't find parking so I decided to park at a meter. There was a homeless man sitting near it and he told me it was broken. Then he said "you can leave your car here and I'll watch it for you". Despite my skepticism I decided to trust him. I went and did my thing and when I came back my car and the homeless man was still there. I gave him a few bucks and he told me that at least three meter maids came by and tried to give me a ticket but he scared each one away. He also told me that they purposely don't fix the meter because they want to give unsuspecting people tickets. I then gave him more money and told him to keep up the good work. Good people like him are a rare breed, humbleness is something most people lack these days.

I gave this homeless man like 20 bucks like 2 months down the road he sees me with my girl, he literally walked over and gave me so much praise infront of her. And told her not to hurt me as i am one of the good ones to her and left. I still remember that man. After 4 years. We broke up 2 years afterwards.
