I own the Pixel 3a XL and I have downloaded Android 12 on it. I sell phones for a living, so I have many devices, but I always go back to my Pixel 3a XL because the Pixel density is so beautiful on the display. I own a lot of newer phones, but there's something about my Pixel display that is gorgeous to me. The brightness coupled with the way Google saturates the colors is unlike my iPhone 12 Pro Max, Samsung Galaxy S20+, and Samsung Note 10+, and all the Motorolas I own. I'm thinking of getting a newer Pixel because I can say the battery life is gone in a puff of wind compared to my other devices. Also, I need WAY MORE than just 64GB of storage. I guess I'm what people refer to as a power-user, and I can't get everything done with just 64GB. So, although I use other devices as my main drivers, I like to use my Pixel to this day for the camera and watching videos.

I'm still using my 3a XL and love it for the battery life, large screen because I watch YouTube all the time, and the dual speakers are good. I'm waiting to see what Google comes out with this year to buy a new phone.

I have a one plus 7T that I use as my daily phone. My wife went to the Apple camp a couple years ago, she originally had the Pixel 3A XL. I use her old Pixel 3A XL when I record my daughter's music videos and performances- I use the Shure MV88+ microphone ( a great portable mic that has really nice app for configuring not only levels but all different recording characteristics) . The reason I use the Pixel 3A XL instead of my one plus 7T is that the camera (both video and photo mode) are FAR superior to the one plus 7T. So if you want a nice camera on a phone, for cheap, the Pixel 3A XL is still as good as most anything out there today, at least up to the $500-$600 range

I originally had one 3a xl and I’m still using it for 2 years and 4 months now. For me, love it for battery life so good damn and nice natural camera. Sometimes my 3a xl fell out of that too bad even it doesn’t broke or scratch or crack with case. I love using 3aXL maybe coming soon ill try to check 6 pro

Need to redo this with Android 12... I've noticed no lag or hanging

I have been using my Pixel 3a XL for a year now. And the camera is really amazing. Both videos and pictures. Though I experience some lags from time to time like unresponsive clicking, when I click on an app and it won't open and you have to click for several times. But this is rare and usually is gone after I restart the phone. Ideally I would like to use the phone for one more year or two. If it lasts that long of course.

I really loved this video, really accurate and well done. Could you do one about the Pixel 2 XL? I think it would be really interesting to see your thoughts on that device, and comparing it with the 3a XL.

I purchased my daughter a used 3a. I was surprised the casing felt more sturdy than my 4a. I squeeze my 4a, it squeaks. The 3A doesn't.🤔

No. 1, 60Hz cannot be related to performance because its not a performance issue here. If we are talking about lag, stutter, yes but dont make having the 60Hz screen like a bad thing. its not an issue for the midranger.

No.2, u didn't mention this phone will get android update till May 2022. This is very important because this is the main reason to buy this phone rather than buy the Pixel 3XL which the 3XL will stop be getting the update next month.

Be just and please speak thoroughly about this phone as many users don't know about this thing.

Nice video, I'm very satisfied with my 3a XL, bought it for 110£ with a crack on the screen, but it's invisible when you look at it normally, only visible when you look at it with a >20% angle. You didn't mention that the 18W fast charge works only with PowerDelivery, so if you bought it like me wo a charger, you are stuck at 10W I think.

I'm glad you corrected yourself. Samsung galaxy UI is shitty. Constantly get advertising push notifications for Samsung products. Benefits of the Pixel UI is it weeds out a ton of crap.

This is hyping me up for the pixel 6 if the rumors are true. I'd get the pixel 3 due to the smaller footprint albeit smaller battery.

Great video but you forgot to mention one of the best reasons for sticking with this old phone in 2021: all the decent phones have messed up displays! Yes I'm talking about notches and camera cutouts. They're asymmetric, unnecessary and they ruin the full screen video experience. When did we all collectively decide this notch/punchhole sh*t was ok? And don't anybody tell me "you get used to it". Ever had to use a phone with dead pixels or a cracked screen for any length of time? Yeah you get used to that after awhile, too, but nobody's asking for dead pixels or cracked screens on their brand new expensive phones. WTF is this madness? Am I the only one who wants a symmetrical, uninterrupted display?

Well, for me there's an upside to the current phenomenon of everyone wanting f*cked up screens on their phones; it's forced me to stick with older devices and save a lot of money. I would normally buy $500-$700 phones; now I'm looking at old phones instead (I just bought a Pixel 3a XL for $150 on Amazon Renewed) and spending far less.
I was going to upgrade from my current device (Pixel 3a) to a 4a or 5a, but when handling them at the store and playing some videos, I just couldn't unsee that disgusting punch hole in the corner.
BTW, Android 12 is running just fine on my 3a, so I'm sure it will do likewise on the 3a XL. This made my decision even easier.
Good job, manufacturers! You've managed to convince a chronic phone upgrader not to give you more money. With your decision to make notches and punch holes universal, you've hurt your bottom line.

I said at the time the 3a XL came out that it was false economy unless you only keep your phone a year or so. The rule of thumb for those of us that hold onto our phone for 3-4 years, which is the average, is to get the most powerful chip, but def not a third-tier like on this. I was also speaking from having a Pixel 3XL, my worse phone ever. It has crap RAM management and became a lagfest and eventually died just after its second birthday. That year was a poor effort by Google and I can see why they eventually gave up on flagships.
