Can I just use motor oil instead of assembly lube or It's a must?

I don't think the motor oil lubricates the seal it just cools it down slightly but no oil gets between the crank and seal, or else it would be leaking all the time. If a car sits a few months the seal will be completely dry by then and starting it up would destroy the seal by your logic, but it doesn't because the oil pressure builds almost instantly

Great vid! Question, would pulling the motor be more beneficial? Or dropping the trans is better? Looks like dropping the trans was a better for you. Looking for advice before I start.
I have access to a lift and engine crane.
