I’m glad you stuck with Ozeki. It wasn’t the best of the best for me but was very good. Yes on Ruth. 😂🥰

What a great reading month! So happy your review of Priory was more sensible 😂 mine was just 🙈 Alsoo.... 10001subs?!!! 🥳🥳😍

You had a great reading month! I didn’t realise that you had DNFed the Book of Form and Emptiness; that makes me feel better! 😂 I think Noughts and Crosses should be on the UK National curriculum. I was looking at the start of the book the other day with a Year 6 class as we were looking at how authors begin stories and I was encouraging them to read it! They were very interested in it! 🥰📚💜

I want to get to some more Ruth Ozeki and your review has me intrigued.

I love the salty goodness of the first part of this video! I don’t think cosy anything is for you mate! 😂 I am blown away by the massive variety of books in this wrap up. There really was a bit of everything (even “romance” if you count the vomit-inducingly inappropriate supermarket antics!). Some here I definitely want to read. I’m definitely going to get to Tillie Waldren now you say it’s way better than Paper Girls. I’ve read the second one of those and my jury is still out though I enjoy the weirdness factor. I forgot about Tom Sawyer being a c**p version of Anne! 😂🤣 What a fab month of reading, I have quite found a five star yet. 😊📚

Five Little Indians sounds really good. Will definitely look out for that one. You read some great books in Jan.

Cheers for the heads up for the poetry collection on scribd too.

Don’t Cry For Me by Daniel Black was my fave book of Jan with Tomorrow I Become A Woman close behind it 😊📚❤️

Yay for poetry 🥰 I was honestly expecting it to be in the worst books section for you 😂 So glad you liked it.

"Get the classic out" honestly best description I've heard 😂

Gemma I’m so glad you are doing the Across Canada Book Challenge! FLI is a powerful starting point. Have you chosen a book for Alberta yet?

You make me laugh. 😂 Cosy is definitely not for you. I am adding books to my want to read whilst trying to read what I have. I need to add you to the list with Scott 🤪📚

Gubbins is one of my favourite words! 😂 Yeah, cosy mystery is not for Gem! If you were going to read any Charlaine Harris, AT is not the series I would have recommended for you. What a reading month! Also poetry - wow! You have made me want to pick up the Noughts and Crosses series - may have to audiobook them. Amazing month!

All the Men I Never Married has me super intrigued. I love a poetry recommendation from someone who generally doesn't read/review poetry. Just have to get Noughts and Crosses off my wishlist and on my shelves.

Mayflies was really attracting me, especially with the series out, but I keep hearing not so great reviews and don't know that I'll vibe with it. Same with A Tale for the Time Being, I want to give it a try, but don't know if I jell with her writing. Oh I need to get on to the Canadian challenge too!

A $#!% version of Anne of Green Gables. 😂 Love the cover of All The Men I Never Married. Might have to check it out. I enjoyed a Tale For The Time Being and We Should All Be Feminists. Yay for Can Lit in number one. I’m so glad you enjoyed Five Little Indians. 😊💙

Hi Gemma. I finished Jamaica Inn. Finally. Thank God. Is the next FOMO book The Anomaly? I’m getting mixed up.

Ha! I doubt I’ll ever read Slaughter House Five.
That’s a terrible pick-up line. Terrible.
I really want to pick up Priory soon! 😊❤

Slaughterhouse 5, and so it goes.

Reading we should all be feminists, with the understand of where Chimananda's feminism fails sounds really interesting.

I'm glad A Tale for the Time Being ended up working for you. I'm now sure you'll like My Year of Meats even more, it's heavier on the emotional horrible stuff and lighter on the literary weird stuff... There's still some weird.

Def agree that the first half of Mayflies is the weaker of the two. Loved the second half.

I feel like Vonnegut is for teen boys and dude bros. I don't get the hype. Cozy mysteries aren't for me either. I liked both _Tom Sawyer_ and _Huck Finn._ American classics. I also love the saltiness of Mark Twain as a person. He was hilarious. I skipped your _Mayflies_ review since I haven't read it yet. 4 stars is a good sign, though!
