People acting like Talgo is the only one delaying trains when Alstom TGV M is delayed, Alstom Avelia for the ACELA in the US is delayed and facing TONS of issues, Siemens ICE 4 was delayed, Alstom Coradia Stream for NS was delayed, Bombardier (Alstom) Twindexx for SBB was delayed…

Danish state railways are buying the exact same thing for its international routes to Germany, right now via the great belt bridge, and in the future by the Femarhn Tunnel. Originally they would have run with two locomotives, but since DB paid to have a steering car made they have decided to get those as well. It’ll be a major improvement over the current setup which is a mix of old leased DB intercity stock that isn’t working well and the IC3, which, while it runs well, is sometimes driven as just a single 3 car unit, which makes them packed on a popular international route.

I like how this triggers so many railway enthusiasts just because it is labeled as an ICE

It is a Talgo. So it can only run smoothly on extremely perfect tracks. Everywhere else it is going to shake and rattle like every other Talgo.

oh, a DB train that's coming late, how original.

It got delayed further to 2026. With the end of 2025, the Berlin-Amsterdam rail route will be served by ICE3neo Siemens Velaro units instead, as a temporary solution.

Great yet another Talgo train with a shaking and rattling experience like RENFE’s Talgo Avril train, also the brand ICE should only by used for high speed trains capable of <250 km/h

the problem with German railway system is never about the train. The German trains and the technology they use are actullay world class, top-tier even. The problem lies within the decaying infrastructure and rising number of passengers. If the infrastructure problem is not solved from the route, no matter how many new trains they put in survice, the trains would only be stuck on rails, not arrving in time and even get cancelled on a daily basis.

That thing is gonna end up like the Skoda trains did.
Delayed by multiple years, go into service, constantly malfunction, stay in the shop more than run, get replaced after 2 years by much older (well running) stock, rust away in a siding waiting go get bought by someone, get scrapped eventually because nobody wants to buy them.

It's a cool idea in that it's ultra efficient, but I think it should be called the IC L not the ICE L. Great video though 👍

This Train has nothing to do with an ICE. Its an InterCity with more flashy design just so they can sell the tickets for higher prices. The Route Berlin-Amsterdam could never be served by an ICE as it is today. Also taking away the Compartments on this Route is a stupid move, because (especially during the summer holidays) you have groups of young people travelling on this train. Often they are quite noticeable. In their conpartment it was fine, but in an open coach its horror. It already was stupid when they took away all compartment coaches (except 1. Class) from the Line.

The Idea of a talgo-Train for Germany is a good one, but not in this use.

Better than any train in the United States, which isn't saying much. 😅😅😂

As a user of the intercity route between Amsterdam and Berlin or other destinations, I'm curious how it will turn out. Not every new thing is an improvement. From your own experience you know that Talgo trains can be very shaky. Especially with the track quality in both The Netherlands and Germany. We'll see.

no, that's not an improvement, that's a talgo, enjoy your bumpy ride

Denmark is also buying these to drive the Copenhagen-Hamburg trip i think

DB used to have Talgo Sleepers in the 1990s.

The fact that they are calling this an ICE is the most outrageous. They could've just made it the newest generation of IC trains.

ah come on, the homologation proces is clear for every company. It might take more time, it's not the main reason for the delays. The reason these sets are delayed it because Tango make crappy trains that have too much problems to get directly accepted. It's one of the only trains getting this delayed in Germany ...

Fun fact the first ICE L has been delivered in the Netherlands in January 2025 for test drives
