Tales from the Crypt is a 1972 British horror film directed by Freddie Francis. It is an anthology film consisting of five separate segments, based on stories from EC Comics. It was produced by Amicus Productions and filmed at Shepperton Studios, and is one of several Amicus horror anthologies made during the 1970s.

In the film, five strangers (Joan Collins, Ian Hendry, Robin Phillips, Richard Greene and Nigel Patrick) encounter the mysterious Crypt Keeper (Ralph Richardson) in a crypt, and he tells each in turn the manner of their death.

"Tales from the Crypt"(1972) is an excellent supernatural horror movie! This is one of the 5 best horror anthologies movies of all time! All the stories of the movie is excellent!

I saw this when I was 6 yrs old. I cried for almost an hour afterward. Today, I'd probably laugh.

I recently discovered this movie on Tubi. Being a Tales From the Crypt fan since I was a child, I was surprised I'd never seen it. You can definitely tell it's aged, especially with some of it's over the top scenarios, but it still managed to send shivers and chills. I love the fact that it brutally cuts to the point of death and damnation for those who deserve it. And though he wasn't the spooky old corpse we remember from the show we all might remember, Ralph Richardson the Crypt Keeper of this film managed to still creep me out. He was ... dead on.

The OG Tales from the Crypt movie. We saw this at the drive-in with Children Shouldn't Play with Dead Things. I was 11 and those movies scared the shit outta me. Fun times from back in the day tho

My grandmother introduced me to Tales From The Crypt. Said my grandfather took her to see it in theaters. I ate up the series that came out later too. Great stuff 👍

I own almost every season of tales from the crypt but I never seen this movie and I'm going to watch it tonight I hope it's good usually old horror is but sometimes it's got to have Vincent Price in it.
