Elon Musk just risked it all, probably unintentionally, to make his girlfriend (Grimes) laugh. In 2018, Elon tweeted that he had secured funding to take Tesla private at $420 a share.

Turns out, the funding had never been secured. And now Musk is facing a lawsuit from Tesla investors who say that the tweet negatively impacted their investment decisions. On top of that, Elon is facing the possibility of securities fraud.

As it stands, the case boils down to whether Musk knew that the $420 price for Tesla shares was actually a joke. During the trial, Elon himself put it best. He said, "There is some karma around 420, although I should question if that is good or bad karma at this point.”

Good. I hope he loses even more money than he did overpaying for and then horribly managing Twitter. He even f’ed the joke up ($420.69 would’ve been more appropriate). He’s also an awful awful human being. As his friend Kanye West once said “No one man should have all that power!” and no one should be able to exploit their way into that many billions of dollars.
