Exposing the Flaws in Our Healthcare System: Over-Medication, Corporate Greed, and True Health!

This week, I'll be discussing the shortcomings of the current healthcare system, especially the prevalence of symptom suppression through medication rather than addressing root causes of illness. I recently had a personal experience advocating for a family member in an emergency room that really got me thinking about issues with over-medication and unnecessary procedures.

We'll also take a look at the pharmaceutical industry, particularly generic drugs from India and China, and the influence of corporate interests on medical practices. Finally we'll talk about finding healthcare providers who prioritize patient outcomes over profit.

Make sure to join me at 6 PM Central on Tuesday for this call for empowerment in making informed health decisions and advocating for better healthcare practices!

You hit the nail on the head. It seems like doctors are so focused on what ICD code they can pin on a set of symptoms, and what code they can get past the insurance company, that they fail to actually practice the art of medicine, think functionally about what the test data is actually showing them, how they might address root cause, then worry about how to code and bill for it. My husband owns his own practice, (not a big corporation) and gets all of the cases that other docs don't want, because they require assessment time, and this doesn't get the corporate practices the bang for the buck target they drive their employees to hit. So if you don't happen to have a high bang for the buck illness, today's corporate medicine will either treat you improperly or not at all. You almost have to go into the appointment knowing what your illness is and how to code for it with your insurance, to get the doc to get you the meds or tests you need.

Great talk, you're pointing it out very well. Sad but true...

Great synopsis of the situation. System is also relying on the ignorance of the clientele, so the system takes of advantage of those they are supposed to care for. Sad set of circumstances.

What really sucks is not being a doctor. They don't get it, your in pain, and have to figure it out, so you get to the right surgery etc. My issue was inability to urinate because of a large ovarian cyst that needed removal. But I had to figure out what it was at our urgent care and get myself to my competent gyno, outside of uc.

Thank you Peter. As a patient, if I advocate for myself I am deemed most always as "complicated" or I get a look like- you're one of "those". Honestly it is sad how much trust we have lost in healthcare simply based off of their lack of perspective and personal cultural bias. It is a challenge to find an open minded doc. If ever I end up in the ER or with a new doc, I have the hope and pray attitude they aren't brainwashed. If so, I ask for someone else or change my provider.

I have NEVER had a doctor warn me of nutrient depletion that could be cause by any prescription drug. The patient is the victim of the profit over people system. It just happened to me again a few days ago. So, so frustrating and painful!

Extremely peculiar because any time I go to MOST Drs and esp ERs, there's almost every single excuse to NOT run any tests, accuse anyone I know of having symptoms of strictly anxiety only, neglect, or even gaslighting. It's the opposite of the beginning story shared in this elaborate video.

I'm more homeopathic than anything and have a friend on meds that's tapered off of some. She's been on Rx meds since age 14 and turned 41 this year. Her mom and I are tryinf to help her convert strictly to homeopathic, though it'll take a while.

The medicalSystem, anymore, in USA is vile to put it elementary...

Interesting that GSK confirmed it had reached 4 confidential settlements for Zantac . Of course GSK does not admit liability, in a few cases it stated they wished to avoid distraction related to protracted litigation. Like most drug companies Their profits means they can get the best legal defense .

My daughter wasn’t told by her physician not to eat grapefruit while taking blood pressure and cholesterol medication. It was listed as a warning on her medication bottle😢.
