An Oklahoma couple is lucky to be alive after being stranded in the ocean for nearly 40 hours. Kim and Nathan Maker were on a diving tour off the coast of Texas. The trouble started after a fellow diver struggled to grab onto the dive line. Nathan swam over to help the diver make it out of the water. However, Nathan and his wife were no longer able to hold onto the dive line and were stranded. As Inside Edition's Les Trent reports, they are crediting the U.S. Coast Guard for saving their lives.

The couple should sue the boat company that let it happen on purpose. They just forgot the couple was missing? Infuriating

That diving company needs to get sued out of business for just leaving them out there

How the hell didn't the dive company not do a head count on how many were aboard then how many got into the water vs how many came back aboard so they can spot anyone missing?. My uncle used to dive and he told me that when he and his friends dived expecially in large groups they had 2 people double count how many aboard then in the water then out just to be safe.

Something not adding up. Video of lady in the water with them making it to the boat. She knew they were in the water with her. So does that mean she told the boat operater she was the last out. Somethings not right here. There more to this store.

I was always think about these scenarios… And how I would survive. It's nice that you guys had each other and you were not alone. It must have been freezing

Because the couple didn’t mention the diving company, there might be something brewing in the courts, I hope.

Reminds me of another story from several years back when a couple was left stranded in the ocean and the boat company responsible didn't bother to do a head count or anything. All they found of the couple by the time they realized they were missing (2 days later) were fragments of their swimming gear. Not sure if the family ever sued the company.

The story is incomplete without warning the public of the negligent dive company to avoid.

Yet another story of people being left behind. What is up with these dive companies??? Don't they know how many people they have at the beginning and end of the trip? These companies or the employees need to be held accountable.

I don't understand how the diving company left them behind. I've gone diving before and we always had a head count before and after. It's a good thing they were experienced divers.
