I'm glad to have a Hardtop on my F355 - with no mechanics. Your 360 looks great!

I've got a 360 spider as well, one thing I've learnt over the years of ownership is to always operate the top when the engine is running. The pump draws a lot of current from the battery, so unless it's 100% charged and in tip top condition you'd always have an issue operating the top when the engine isn't running.
The other thing to check is for the fluid level in the pump reservoir, one of the hydraulic rams might be leaking in the engine bay, and lack of fluid in the reservoir would prevent the mechanism from operating.

Never close or open the roof without having stared the engine!

I agreed with you, when I drive my car, there is always someone that want to race me. All that I want is drive my car in a beautiful day.

Thank you for making the 360 videos. I really enjoy watching them. I hope the hood solution isn't too costly. Good Luck.

Just a suggestion...try starting the engine, to have full electrical charge through the car, and then see if the hood operates....bit of a long shot I know....

Yes it is very special to own a Ferrari and I can understand you're pride and joy owning it.I watched another clip concerning a couple of American youngsters who drove a yellow 360 Ferrari and they had trouble with both the door handles and could not open the door from the inside.I just thought that's a poor showing for a car like that.

Hi I didn't see any post after u fixe the top I am having same issue and looking for solution

My buddy had a spyder ferrari and found out how much the convertible top costs to replace and sold his car. According to my friend, Ferrari does not make the mechanism parts for the convertible top anymore. I hope that is not what is wrong with your car.

Seems Ferrari caught a cold, blanket to help her recover.
Hope just a minor issue Justin.
Cheers

Hi Justin - I have exactly the same car here in the U.S., and I have to admit every time I put the top up or down I grit my teeth a little, listening to all those electronics and hydraulics doing their thing. As you said, the procedure for raising or lowering it manually is nuts; you'll just have to wait for a nice enough day to take it in. Keep us posted and best of luck!!

Mate...I had the same thing on my Audi TTS but I have a feeling that was much cheaper to fix !
I hope it's something easy to sort out :-)

Hi Justin I'm sure you will have it fixed very shortly, I had a lotus esprit v8 gt & every time it went wrong it was £500 no matter what it was which is why I love my RS, thrash it everywhere & no worries just enjoy it as it's every bit as much fun without the headaches. fingers crossed for you hope it's nothing to major.

Sorry to hear about the Ferrari, Justin. You'll have it fixed in no time. On a positive note, you still have that Blue Beast to get you from Point A to Point B. :)

Hi Fezza! Your video is some years old already, but a reaction from me nonetheless. I seem to have the same gearbox problem with my 360. Looking for YouTube vids I came across you! I am a member now😊.
Did you actually find your F1 problem? Hopefully it can help me.
Thank you!

Hi Justin..hope you are well...Any luck troubleshooting the hood problem? I know my suggestion was a long shot...your audience is sitting spellbound waiting for your update....well ok I exaggerate a lol

You would think there would be a manual override so that you could manually disengage the electronic stuff to allow you to move the pieces closed.

There should be a new "Axis" where the Italians design the looks and sounds and performance of their cars but bring Germans in to engineer the vision so it actually works more consistently.

Hoods are "sensor driven", so if it's not in a known state (i.e. open or closed), the ECU doesn't know what to do. So, with it partially open as shown in your vid, it's not surprising that it still won't budge for safety reasons - the mechanism has to open in a particular sequence, otherwise damage will occur. On our hoods, you had to plug in a laptop into the diagnostic port and then manually cycle (carefully!) through each stage and at the same time, one could see if the sensor's triggered properly. Hopefully in your case, it just needs to be cycled open and then closed and all will be well!!
