I really love the share vehicle idea. I started with a slash 2wd and ran that at my track. Built a Tekno SCT 410SL recently and took it to the same track. Struggled a bit with nose diving and asked a guy with experience to drive it for me and see what he thought. Turned out it was a bit of driver error and a bit of suspension setup. He told me what he did while driving to help correct it. Took it out myself and did what he said to do and it worked. Got better but now need to tune the car. Definitely helped knowing it was mostly driver error 😂

I've been racing RC off and on for about a year and people have tried to help me, but I just don't understand. I watched a few videos about the slipper and got a basic understanding, but that's a difficult topic so I'm going to watch more. But to make my job easier I'm making playlist of each topic and after I do that I'll go back through and start taking notes. Learning all this stuff is hard so the playlists are to help other people and make it easier for me to take notes in each category, and the notes are so i understand it, and I can go back to important information later.

Anyway... you probably didn't want to read all that and I don't blame you, but I will say I like these videos that don't just tell you HOW to do each thing... but tells you WHY to do each thing and WHAT exactly it is each thing does.

So basically... my main point: videos like this help the most, and taking notes (with illustrations...even if they don't look great) will help you learn, understand, and ask questions if you need to.

i love rewatching to get all the details from your videos. may i suggest some text and graphics around you and your hands? easier for audience to visualise the concepts you are explaining. Im learning a lot from you! Cheers.

Thanks Ryan for all the R/C content, absolutely love all your videos! Been out of the R/C scene for 20+ years and recently got the bug and I’m back heavier than I’ve ever been. I never raced till now and gotta say I look forward to all your videos. I would love to see a video of your finger work on the remote when running a track. Kinda like a split screen, close up on the remote on one side and track driving on the other. I know it’s all what’s comfortable for your style but your driving and set up are dang close to mine. Keep up the awesome videos! PS don’t apologize for that sweet transition screen, don’t even say your about to do do it!!

Thanks Ryan, only been racing for one year. Last year learned how to drive with little to no set up changes. This year I've been trying different things. This video gave me some good tips.

Be nice explaining what all the settings do. I.e camber 0 camber gives you the most tyre surface area. Adding camber gives you lest tyre contact area but at the same time gives you more turn in. Toe in also gives you more turn in but you lose straight line stability. You mention shock oils in your video but you don’t need to change them. You can change the thickness of your sway bars. If your car bottoms out ride height is another option, springs too. The first thing is selecting the right tyre. If you car slides does not grip at all it’s just a waste of time trying to adjust the mechanical options. I would love a video explaining the timing options for hobby wing speed controllers. Adjusting these options can help loads. Slipper clutch is another great option to. To much wheel spin when trying to put the power down this can be a great option but you can also fix this with speed controller .. love the videos .. watching from the uk

Something that I did for "Recon" months ago, aside from scouting the track, and kind of tied into your "Options" tip as well - in my case, I also hit up a tire manufacturer in one of their public Forum threads (since they are the title sponsor for a "Super" series that races a round there every year 😉 ). It was good to know that "tire A" was typically good for an entire club race day, but that you should also have "tire B" on hand for the afternoons on each day at a big event. Once you know what works for one brand, it's convenient that other brands typically have both tread patterns and compounds similar to each other, so it's usually pretty easy to come up with a combo for your brand of choice if you don't see anyone running it. I have not made any allegiances to any tire brand in particular, so my spectrum is wide open, haha.

As usual, great tips Ryan!

Ryan, recent subscriber but I’ve watched a ton of your videos over the past month or two. Made the decision that I wanted to get into racing RC but was unsure what kit I should buy in order to start. While not the most cost effective solution to get started, I am basically replicating your 4wd Buggy setup. Everything from 22x-4 to the Sanwa M17, only thing I changed was the motor ESC combo to the hobbywing XR10 Pro G2/V10 G3R. I just couldn’t help myself! Thank you for putting all this detailed content out for racers new and old, best RC racing channel out there - awesome production value!! Thanks again, keep it up Ryan!

What a GREAT video! If you want to know what it actually takes to set up a car for speed, this is it. The importance of Recon and asking the fast guys is so underrated - so is the importance of the proper tires.

Most tracks here in UK are shut because of "new normal", may never go back so maybe rc is dying here in UK as no track's will cause shops to close = no shops, no tracks, no tracks, no shops. Spent £5000 maybe more for 2 new cars, 2 older, electrics, Full hobby setup in February too. Now seems Wasted, lol. I'll keep watching and hope you all have fun. Thanks for awesome content BTW.
