In this IBJJF 2024 World Finals | Diego Pato - The Year of The Duck | I describe how Diego Pato was able to not only get to the back using a berimbolo and crab ride combo but also maintain the back leading to a submission finish in just over 3 minutes into the 10 minute match.

Diego Pato has been on an absolute tear lately, beating some of the best in the game in Gi and No-Gi. His back maintenance is something that I talk about when I teach because I believe that maintain the position is the most important thing to strive for. Once you can maintain a position for long periods of time you can launch attacks at will knowing your opponent won't be able to get out and counter attack.
Diego did just that in this match launching attack after attack from the back position until he was able to wear his opponent down and secure the finish.
