Play at 0.25x speed and you will see as the ball hits the right side, the lever still stays up. Only after the ball reaches the right site it goes down. You can clearly see that the lever stays up for just too long. As the ball rolls to the right, the lever should also move slowly down, but that's not the case.

I love these videos. I can imagine them being used in science classes to test, discuss and disprove or rather show why these don't actually work. I think I see the trick. At 0:47 he makes the mistake of opening the circuit to the electromagnet hidden in the base a moment too soon. This allows the ball to rebound against the stop, conserving its momentum and almost running over the stop on the other side.

Just to be clear: this is NOT a hoax. The maker is explicit that his devices are not real PM: he makes mechanized 'realizations' of concepts from throughout the history of the search for PM. It's a brilliant concept - I *know* these devices are impossible, I know they are fake, but when I see them I still have trouble figuring out *why* they don't work for real. They look so intuitive! It's genius.

I found this channel about a week ago, and I absolutely love it.
The comments of course are hilarious, but apart from this; these contraptions, with absolute zero regard for even the most basic physics, are absolutely wonderful.
I mean. Who makes all these things? Are they in a museum somewhere, where we can see them?

Might I suggest you expand on the rotating water sphere, and make it possible to control how much the ping pong ball is submerged. The more the ball is submerged, the greater th weight difference gets, the fast the sphere will rotate.
I think that would be a worlds first. A perpetual machine with throttle control.

There's an electromagnet that atract the mechanism down. You can tell by the way it goes down so abruptly. It should be gradual as the the torque increases and not abrupt like it's happening.

This is impossible. If we study the system using Lagrance mechanics we find a relationship between the heigth of the steel rings, the position of the ball on the steel bar and the angle formed between the two steel bars. The system has a single degree of freedom. The system WILL find a static configuration (dU/dt =0 where U depends only by a parameter ) so there is an external force being applied. Stop joking :)
