Just picked up this exact bike for my dad today. Minneapolis here. I wanted it but he’s been talking about e-bikes for years. Stoked

This bike ticked all my boxes. 1) Carries a ton of groceries and my dog, 2) it's pedal assist only, so I can take it on many trails 3) I can get it serviced wherever there's an REI 4) step through--I'm an old gray-haired senior with arthritis 5) relatively cheap -- mine was clearance for $1025.

Can you remove the front rack on the e1.2? Does it still look good without it?

Hi guys! So nice to have your experience here locally in SB, I also live in Santa Barbara! I'm considering buying a cargo ebike, as my RadCity was stolen a few months ago. I want to be able to carry my young son on the back safely and the RadRunner seems like the best way to do that. No need for a RadWagon.... yet. I'll also be commuting from downtown (Lower Riviera) to Foothill/154 for work(where I can re-charge), with the occasional ride out to Goleta, so I have a few hills to deal with. I was gonna by a RadRunner used, but the pricing on the REI bikes looks nice, when you include the 2 year warranty and adjustments, but there is also the RadPower storefront in town now. It seems like the throttle is the main thing I would be losing. Am I missing anything else? Any suggestions?

I wouldn't because for one there's no REI around here and for two it took them too long to put it together and if I did buy it from them then I'd just buy it in the box and put it together myself.

2 years of ‘adjustments’ NOT warranty. $1, 100 for this bike is just over-priced. No fenders so you’ll be covered with road grime. No lights for night riding? 350w motor and owners reporting it’s underpowered for hills? Can’t imagine trying to start off on a hill with your cargo bike loaded and no throttle. Suggest you show a real world ride with the cargo bike loaded and go take it on some hills. GOOD LUCK WITH THAT. Frankly there are WAY better bikes. Thankfully you can still return it.
