Hi Kaela, I just wanted to thank you for what you are doing. I've been praying for a bible study that resonates. I just found Jesus last January. So amazing. This August I was diagnosed with cancer. Turned 60 in October. What a year. So....thanks for being a life jacket. God led me to your sharings. Thank you Jesus.

“But God” stood out to me in this chapter. Men have plans, but God’s plans prevail. I have “But God” written on my mirror as a hopeful reminder that God is not done with me, yet. 🙂

That's right Kaela, you always baptize the second someone is ready because you never know how much time anyone has on this Earth. And if their heart is ready, they can be baptized and join the Lord's kingdom immediately. No need to wait! This study is so good. Keep going!

I'm learning to be curious when reading the Bible! I used to just glaze over what I considered to be just "random" statements about people or events. I looked up some commentaries on 10:6 about the tanner and found this: The Jews already considered gentiles to be unclean. By drawing Peter into the home of a gentile tanner - the dirtiest of the dirty because of their work with dead animals- God was breaking down barriers and preparing Peter as a vessel to pour out His blessing onto the gentiles.

What resonated with me most in Chapter 10 is Cornelius' immediate obedience in verse 7 and Peter's humility in verse 26 when he declined the worship of himself by Cirnelius.

I loved it when you did that jiggle as you explained verse 44. I felt the same way at that same point because you actually repeated something i had just said to my daughter today about the Holy Spirit - It is my role to share what i witnessed, but the Holy Spirit's role to do the convincing.

Thank you again for your ministry.

Hi there
You mentioned three times.... Jesus also asked Peter three times, "Do you love me?" .... with the response..."Feed my sheep."

Thank you for your obedience, this Bible study is a blessing 😊

For chapter 9:43 tanners were often considered impure because of contact with dead animals. Apparently, either Jewish law became more relaxed on this trade, or Peter was perhaps and join freedom from the Jewish law based on liberty in Christ this is a commentary from the apologetics study Bible I’m so glad I’m studying this book with you Kaylah.

I admire this sister way of digging in to the scriptures to find the correct interpretation of what she is reading.
I, too believe that the threefold repetition is important in scripture.
In scripture, beginning in Peters' first significant appearance of the leader of the apostles in Acts ch.2, he states that the plan of salvation is repentance, water baptism in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and recieving the Holy Spirit.
The remission of sins during water baptism is the antitype of the old covenant type of cleansing the temple with water and blood in order for the Spirit of God to enter it.
But we find, according to the writer of Hebrews, that the blood of animals was ineffective in dealing with " consciousness of sin"( Heb.10:2) which is guilt.
Thus, the Spirit of God would only dwell in the temple temporarily requiring the rites to be repeated each year.
The Lord is refered to as a more " perfect sacrifice"( Heb.10:14-24).
Now, for us christians, the Holy Spirit can dwell on the " temple" of our bodies on a permanent basis.
The cleansing of out " temple" occur
s during water baptism.
I believe that that during Peters' vision that the unclean animals the Lord was refering to were the gentiles that he was about to visit.
The Lord telling Peter, " Call not unclean what God hath cleansed". The word " hath", in the new testaments' original Greek, means" something that has already been done".
The only way that Cornelius and the other gentiles could have recieved the Holy Spirit is if they had already been cleansed as the result of Johns' baptism.
Meaning that when the Lord shed His blood at calvary Johns' baptism became effective and all those, including proselytes like Cornelius and his people, recieved remission of sins.
The reason that Peter had them rebaptized after they recieved the Holy Spirit is so they could take on the name of Jesus Christ as it was called iver them.
Just as a bride takes on the bridegrooms name as the minister calls it over her.

Roman Army officer draws Curiosity 👀 Could he be the one that asked Jesus to heal his servant, or perhaps the Roman officer that proclaimed “he is truly the son of God” at the cross? Since his name was never revealed it could be.

As everyone was surprised by the gentiles receiving Gods love and mercy for every people, I can't help but wonder if this was something new to the devil himself if it caught him off guard that God was going to give everyone the same love as his children and not just the Jewish believers in that time. Curious or did the devil have knowledge of Gods plan to give forgiveness to anyone who would believe on/in Christ?

Genesis 16:12

# Existing English translations say this :

KJV
12 And he will be a wild man; his hand will be against every man, and every man's hand against him; and he shall dwell in the presence of all his brethren.
ESV
12 He shall be a wild donkey of a man, his hand against everyone and everyone's hand against him, and he shall dwell over against all his kinsmen."
NLT
12 This son of yours will be a wild man, as untamed as a wild donkey! He will raise his fist against everyone, and everyone will be against him. Yes, he will live in open hostility against all his relatives.”
MSG
12 He'll be a bucking bronco of a man, a real fighter, fighting and being fought, Always stirring up trouble, always at odds with his family."
CSB
12 This man will be [like] a wild ass. His hand will be against everyone, and everyone's hand will be against him; he will live at odds with all his brothers.

# But the correct translation is this :

( He lives as a good man, and his hand is to everyone, and the hand of everyone is through him, and he lives with the children of all his brothers )

This is a word-for-word translation of the text

Maps inspired by religious books and historical books and projecting them onto specific lands and countries is a wrong projection. The simplest example is the country known today as Iraq. It is not the historical country of Mesopotamia in the first place. There is no Babylon or Assyria in this land, and also there is no such thing as the Sumerians. This is a term introduced by an American writer at the beginning of the century. 20. There is no such name in the first place. As well as the rest of the designations and maps, the country known as the Republic of Egypt is not the historical Egypt mentioned in the Bible, and the country known as Saudi Arabia is not the country of the land of the Arabs, and a country like Lebanon is not the country of Laban, the name taken from the Bible, and the country known today as Palestine is not Palestine and is not the Holy Lands. . The country known as Iran is not Persia at all, and so on
