What a turnaround of news in the same week. At exactly the same time of mainstream studios facing scandals like employee crunch, and AI replacing jobs, we're now seeing some of the newest heights... from INDIE animation of all places. Finally, some good news! And even better than that, there is not a single problematic point to this entire reveal. From YouTube series to Netflix surprise, and no paywalls anywhere, could this lead into a new normal? Will others be inspired by the meteoric success of this tale? Perhaps if we're lucky, this could be the start of something great. Is This The Rise Of Indie Animation?

Indie animation won't be the silver bullet that magically fixes all the problems with western animation and sets off another "Timmverse era" of perfectly written, mature animation straight off the bat. Indie animation is still finding it's feet, and if/when it perfects itself over the next few years, there's always going to be the haters and nostalgic naysayers who are like "It's still nothing compared to the good old days of animation", but it's a step in the right direction and gives us hope

This is a HUGE step for indie animation. When my friend told me about TADC going on to Netflix, I was a little confused why GLITCH took the offer, (seeing as Netflix has tried to take full control of some of their shows in the past, ) but now that I see that GLITCH still has full control of TADC, this will be Great for indie animation going forward! I want to see more things like Lackadasiy, Ramshakle, and even Murder Drones, to start to get some more attention, and the mass amount of views they disserve <3

As a kid; I wanted to work for fully fledged studios such as Pixar, to help build my artistic talent since it helped inspire me to pursue in art. But hearing about the horrible treatment and conditions that the animation industry has received over the years makes me think to do independent work like Glitch. I am so happy that Indie Animation is flourishing and is becoming more popular and accessible to everyone. The determination independent creators have is truly amazing and incredible! I think this is a new gate for Artists all around…ppl who make animation for fun and want to show their stories can, it’s a double edge sword where u need yr vid to reach a high popularity on YouTube but when it does u get Support from mainstream to help reach yr vision.
This all began with Arcane which only had around 10~20 animators for the entire show but after it’s box office sales it got a huge helping hand from Netflix

This is a great benefit. I hate how greedy companies are to IP's, especially when they have plenty. I like the idea of companies helping out a little with a show, but letting them have free rein. Would've helped Hazbin to actually have the amount of episodes they wanted.

I have to say, my hopes aren't too high that this will become the norm. Big companies will always try to screw over the little guys to make more money, but that doesn't change the fact that this is a massive victory for everyone involved. Congrats, Digital Circus!

Nice one Glitch. This will help other indie studios to be taken seriously. Also putting Sydney on the map as an animation hub is a bonus. Hope they keep there independence it's better for all of us.
