i love making these, they're so satisfying to eat and more convenient to pack for an outing than sushi rolls imo! i like to put cucumber, avocado, greens, and spicy tofu or mushrooms in mine

time to check myself in terms of weebification – my kneejerk reaction was to correct her pronunciation of onigirazu (she said it more like onagirirazu, different vowel sound and an extra "ri" presumably having mixed up onigirazu and onigiri).

putting the above aside – this onigirazu looks awesome, and while wrapping and waiting for some of the moisture of the filling to soften the nori, that won't prevent it from completely cracking during the wrapping process if it's especially dry.

the solution for this? just sprinkle and spread a few mere drops of water on the nori BEFORE you add the fillings and wrap. et voila, nice and soft/flexible nori resulting in this being ready to eat immediately (no 10 minute wait needed). :)

Onagiri reminds me of this other food I see a lot when ppl go to Korean convenient stores it looks like this 🍙 and usually in a triangle rice thing wrapped in seaweed! Is it the same thing ?
