What are some switch games you regret getting? 🤔

only one i disagree with here is pokémon snap! i really loved it, it was everything i wanted as a follow up to the nintendo 64 version. i actually liked that the stages were replayable because as you level up things would change and make it a new experience again! and you can unlock different paths and see completely new areas even within the same stage

a game i do regret buying though is splatoon 2. it’s by no means a bad game, but i think i overestimated how much i would end up playing it, it’s just not for me.

I agree with u on MK8D expansion pass in that they spread out the releases too far apart. But in the long run, it’s a good purchase considering u get 48 more tracks.

I personally really enjoyed pioneers of olive town as a long time Harvest Moon/Story of Seasons player but it did feel lacking in some parts. I want to believe that I would have still liked it even if I didn't get it free and a month before it was released so I couldn't regret the purchase anyway but I know I don't regret the time I put into it.

I do agree that the first wave of the booster course pass isn't the best. However it isn't all bad. The Tour tracks are pretty fun, even if they aren't the best tracks. And they have a lot of details in the background. You can find so many buildings in Tokyo Blur, and they have fun gimmicks. Tokyo Blur just changes the route each lap, but still kinda cool, and Paris Promenade has you go backwards in the last lap. And Ninja Hideaway (which is from Tour, even though they didn't label it as such) is obviously from the dlc, you can tell from the graphics, but the mechanics and layout of Ninja Hideaway feel like a proper track. If you upgraded the graphics of Ninja Hideaway but kept the layout, it would be amazing. Coconut Mall is flawed, they could change the cars, but they'd also have to wipe the time trial data, so it's unlikely, but it isn't the absolute worst. Let's just hope Wave 2 is a little better.

I guess the only Switch game that I regret buying a physical copy of would be Tetris 99 because I have it downloaded and it’s just so much more convenient for me to have a digital copy of that game.

Ooh this was a great video! I love your presentation style and humour! Also totally agree with Warioware. I bought it in release at FULL PRICE and I have never played a new game so little before in my life. The regret is strong.

I moooostly agree here. Saying that Mario Tennis and Mario Golf are just testing the waters for Switch Sports is blasphemy though lol. They have had multiple iterations over past systems and have been pretty fleshed out I think. I tried out Mario Golf recently and it had quite a bit of content.

A complaint about wario ware I have is that it’s beaten in 2 hours, I was expecting it not to have motion controls cause that’s what every wario ware game that wasn’t for the wii was like

I buy tooons of switch games as I am a huge collector. I still try to stay away from immediately buying some games at full price though especially those gimmick or sports games! I 10000% agree with Warioware -- glad I played the demo first before buying.

As for games I regret buying, Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles is a big one. I was new to importing games from Japan at the time and it's one of the few titles that does not have English unlocked when you get the Japanese version. Needless to say, I literally cannot play the game unless I have a guide up which I hate doing as I love to play most of my games blind. I would understand if the game was exclusive to Japan, but it's not. >:O I also kinda regret Monster Hunter Rise...it's a great game, just couldn't sink the hours into it.

I am curious to know what games you think are a steal for their price? For example, Stardew Valley for $15 feels like I am robbing the developers. lol

I don’t think half these games are necessarily even BAD, but it’s as you said that most of these titles shouldn’t go for full price (55 quid/60 dollars). Nintendo has the luxury of being able to price any game that’s on the Switch as a home console title, thereby marking all of these games at significantly higher prices than you’d hope. If many of these—maybe with the exception of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe—we’re priced closer to 40 USD (and whatever the quid equivalent is) I think it would give the buyer more peace of mind about their purchase.

Just the other day I went looking for the Shin Megami Tensei III Nocturne Switch port, right? I saw that on GameStop and the eShop it was still going for $60 so I was like, “NOPE!” Took just 10 more minutes and I found a deal for a sealed copy on Amazon going for 28 USD AFTER TAX & shipping. It was a steal, and while I haven’t been able to start it yet due to finishing work for university, I can say I feel really proud of that purchase for saving upwards of 30 dollars! Basically, if you see a game that you’d like that’s still going for full price months after launch, you owe it to yourself to investigate a bit, as you might find a deal that saves you a pretty penny~

Our library loans Switch games so...so far no regrets.

I have a love-hate relationship with Jumanji the Video Game! When I bought it i was so excited! I CANT GET PAST THE TUTORIAL. it literally gives you a few steps to do and then it doesn’t give you pointers on what you need to do to get past the tutorial. I’ve had my switch for a year now and I still can’t figure it out. I would look it up but I am lazy and also if I can’t figure out a tutorial without looking it up, it’s a no from me. I love the concept, hate the game itself.

Switch games are actually just $60 USD. I guess we get a price break! 😁

yeah, I agree with you on that Hyrule Warriors, I've not finished it because I got bored. I keep struggling through it every now and then because I want to see those cut scenes but I've not played in quite a while now.

I very much regret buying 1 2 switch for full price. It was fun for maybe an hour, but I’ve never picked it up again…

I only ended up getting Let's Go Pikachu on release because I wanted the Pikachu and Eevee console. 😂

honestly my biggest regret was using Kirby Dream Buffet. it was fun for the hype it had, but I barely play it and just went on a day ago and nobody joined online so I ended up with bots. plus $15 was not worth it for that

My biggest regret was Katamari Damacy Reroll. It was 20 bucks. But it was an awful port. I thought it would have updated features and performances. There wasn't really any significant update. The game was buggy and unsteady in performance. I went back to play Beautiful Katamari, and it plays like golden Irish butter. Beautiful Katamari became one of my top favorite games of all time while Damacy Reroll was a massive downgrade that should have been left behind in the PS2 era. There was no point for Katamari Damacy to be brought back. I'm still angry that I wasted my time and money on it. Oh well.

I got Warioware, and I loved it. I didn't buy it at full price though. I agree that it should've had motion controls. But I had fun!
