They’re okay. But it’s just really unfortunate when you’ve been training for years and are probably more qualified than some of the celebrities they cast yet they’re cast because it’s good press. It shows that the directors don’t care about the project enough to actually give the roles to professional VA’s

I think the difference here is whether they were an actual actor and then did voice acting vs they are a celebrity, nothing to do with acting, and then they did voice acting

The problem with this is that it takes roles away from professional voice actors just for the name recognition, and it often Leeds to bad, and or unfitting performances.

btw i know actors can be good voice actors too and it shouldnt matter if they are a celeb...
HOWEVER sometimes an animated movie uses the celebrity as a way to promote over an actual talented voice actor👍

This is why I have always wanted to do voice acting. It always seems so fun to do and all you need to do is talk into a microphone. I know there is a lot more to it but I love how people seem to enjoy it so much.

Another example is sonic the hedgehog movie two where tails' voice actor is Colleen O'Shaughnessey which she currently does voice for tails since2014 did a marvelous job as usual showing that they don't need fancy celeb to voice famous iconic characters.

I don’t have a problem with celebrity voice acting in general, they’re celebrities, it’s going to happen. I have a problem when it’s used as a crutch in marketing cus
“Hey I know that guy, looks like I’m going to go see it now”
