Today I am joined by Austin Whitman, CEO of Climate Neutral, is a well-versed thought-leader in corporate carbon responsibility. Whitman has served as both Vice President of Climate Change Capital and as Vice President of M.J. Bradley & Associates, two leaders in climate-focused investing and asset management. Austin has a joint MBA/MEM from Yale and a BA from Dartmouth. In 2019, Austin started Climate Neutral, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit aiming to accelerate the decarbonization of global emissions through their achievable certification framework. The organization seeks to be an alternative for the private sector by engaging businesses and providing a feasible certification framework for measuring, offsetting, and reducing the entirety of corporate carbon footprints to net-zero. Climate Neutral has certified 150+ leading brands, including Avacado Green Mattress, Peak Design, Allbirds, and Kickstarter, offsetting over 200,000 tonnes of CO2. Climate Neutral has built a relationship with one of the largest carbon credit brokers, South Pole, a portfolio mobilizing over $15B in clean energy investments.
