I own a 2013 C250 Benz. I've owned two Lexuses, two BMWs and an Infiniti. There is no comparison. Hands down, Benz is the best built car in the world. No problems here. MB reports the highest customer satisfaction ratings of any car brand. Here's the problem. Many people buy them that can't afford the scheduled maintenance on them, which leads to bigger more expensive problems. They then whine that they break down and cost a fortune to repair... Update 2023: I still have the car and have spent about $300 on maintenance with no repairs at all.

I have owned a Merc C180 for almost 10 years. Bought it towards the end of 2010. Other than normal servicing (I had it serviced 3 times across the 9 year period because I don’t clock up a lot of miles), I haven’t spent one more cent on repair or maintenance. Also, not a single mechanical or electrical problem during that period. So based on my experience, I would say that Merc is pretty reliable and obviously has the brand gravitas.

I would definitely say both of my Mercedes Have been extremely reliable and have never left me stranded in the last seven years of ownership I do all of my own maintenance I have a ml350 and ml500 I would definitely agree I probably would not own a Mercedes if I had to pay the shop cost of doing normal repairs but honestly bringing any car into a shop nowadays is astronomically expensive
