The power cable is for using the keyboard as a controller for hardware sythersizors. If using with a computer you dont need to have a power plug as its powered by USB, your friend is not a producer as He don't even know how a midi keyboard works.

don't really need a power plug because the USB Cord/Wire is the power plug I don't know why they added a "Power" slot when it's NOT needed. lol

It is USB powered that's why they didn't include a power adaptor

"what did you come for? piano? me?"
I came for the XTINA, but I stayed for learning that squirrels lose about 70% of their nuts. So, in a sense I came for Zahrik. Srsly tho, the reason I'm here is who doesn't like pianos and I like your zany content.

Medium sizes are usually best unless we're talling about burritos, obviously the bigger the better.

good morning friend, I just got mk2 49, but I don't know how to configure the sustain pedal, it gives the sustain but I have to press the pedal twice to sustain the notes and not just once as is normal, if you can help me I will be grateful

Thank you for posting this. It was so very entertaining, and useful. Too bad I saw it AFTER I bought my MPK249. My end was a bit more frustrating because like you, I was shocked that no Power Supply was included, but the manual said the USB to computer port would suffice as Power. It does, BUT just enough to light up the keyboard, but apparently not enough for the computer to detect the keyboard, and launch the drivers, and software. So, I Amazon ordered the 6v power plug, and should be in business. I plan to use mine in our band for live playing, just for a small library of sounds, while strapped with a guitar. No production. Only downside is having to have the laptop in close proximity. Other than that, very happy with the size, quality, price, and especially the weighted feel of the keys. Huge difference. All the others keyboards feel like toys with their floppy light crappy keys. Now I know why stand alone keyboards run into the thousands. They have everything built in, including the computer. I'm old school, but diving into this midi madness.

LMAO! I can relate with the ''Do I plug this in my butt?'' question, because I bought it used and when I came back home I thought the seller had forgot to put the power wire in the box, but no. I checked the papers and it is sold new, only with a USB power source to plug into your computer...Or butt. Whichever produce the quirkiest sound. ;(
