I have the exact same laptop with exact same OS and I couldn't get past the 1 race, did you do any optimization on yours? Also wondering if I switch to 64 bit Win7 how greatly would that improve the performance? BTW my HDD just died just after 4 months of usage so be careful with yours ;)

Yes, it may slow fps by 2-3-5 frames down, cause win8 uses higher graphical power as well...
The cpu load will be almost always at maximum level so as the temperature of laptop.

On my opinion, windows 7 is the best way to normaly use this kind of hardware.

You have to take into consideration that recording the videos kills quite a good bit of frame rate.

pfff...have the same specs on my samsung laptop, to bad it heats up soo fast, i think you know what i am talking about...
soo awsome performance, but the cooling system policy is such an epicfail...
