Totally agree with you. I always use OEM Toyota parts for my toyotas ('04 Sienna, '11 Sequoia, '16 4Runner). Haven't really needed any parts for them, but for oil changes, I always use OEM filters and Genuine Toyota motor oil. It ends up being the same price or cheaper than third party fluids and filters. Great video

I agree when replacing a part that has to do with the engine or engine components then I always use OEM especially with Toyota you bout a Toyota for reliability reasons so why replace parts for cheaper aftermarket parts and turn your Toyota into a half Toyota and half aftermarket car for lights door handles other accessories sometimes aftermarket makes more sense but coolant, inverter coolant, transmission fluid filters should all be original Toyota that's how you will keep your Toyota a Toyota and have pice of mind! 👍 Great video! I've learned a lot watching your videos I was able to replace my Toyota Camry hybrid with Toyota WS fluid thanks to your other videos so thank you for that! Have a good day and stay blessed! 🙏

I do agree that Toyota OEM parts are usually better than most aftermarket parts but many parts on a Toyota are not actually made by Toyota. They usually contract them out to suppliers like Denso, Aisin, NGK, etc.

A quick tip, take a close look at your old part and see if it has an actual manufacturer's name on it (Denso, Aisin, etc.) and then source them out directly on Amazon, eBay or RockAuto. That way, you're getting an original part without paying the Toyota premium price.

I talked with one of the head engineers for a company that makes parts for Toyota. His words, "Toyota is so damn anal about every little thing. Not only does it have to work perfectly, it must be packed perfectly, it must be sealed perfectly, it must have the labeling perfectly square on the box. If you even so much as mess up one of those little Japanese characters on a box they reject the whole order saying it's defective. Then we have to go back and waste $100k or more fixing whatever tiny problem they had with it and send it out again."

Toyota maintenance! Still waiting on that complete replacement of ATF for a later model Toyota with sealed transmission. I want to do my 2016 Highlander soon and would like to see your approach. Not just drain and fill but the draining of a quart or two at a time via the external cooler and then final top off monitoring the ATF temperature. Thanks!

When I first got my 2002 Tacoma I would go to the dealer to get wiper blade refills but I noticed that if I ran them a lot the rubber from the wipers would start to deposit on the windshield. Never had that problem before so I switched to aftermarket wiper blades and the problem went away.

I tend to use OEM for the most part on my 03 4runner but also some times I cannot see spending a high amount on a part being it is OEM vs a slightly lower price on another brand/aftermarket. I needed all 4 convertors and o2 sensors it was close to 2k for the exhaust motor back and sensors OEM and after mulling it over for a month I went with a stainless aftermarket setup (headers, cat deletes and stainless racing cat back) for just under $600 and found the recommended bosch o2's for a total of around $110. But the downside to the aftermarket was had to remove front driveshaft (4wd was not functional anyways) and a couple pipes had to be heated and slightly bent to line up properly it has amazing power and great sound but required modification and putting simulators on the sensors. It all comes down to the person and what they want to spend on OEM I guess. The OEM seem to last a bit longer I noticed to an extent.

OEM parts are the way to go.  It's very hard to find quality parts at discount auto parts stores. I try to buy quality parts but even those are coming with the China label.

Have a hard time finding Toyota OEM parts online. The dealers in my area have websites, but if you try and lookup parts and prices, they just have a web form to fill out. I am used to Honda. Where you can lookup the parts break down of your car, and see the prices on their web sites. Do each Toyota dealers, do whatever they want, when it comes to looking up parts?

Totally agree. OEM parts do it once do it right. Quality is much higher usually same price as aftermarket . And in the cases wheere the part is 2 or 3 times There is a reason.

How do you like the hf tool drawers ?
