I believe that 7/11 was a part-time job

You should do a show on exactly how many things thought to be conspiracies were actually true in the last 100 years.

That's exactly what I thought a lizard sympathizer might say.

Zero out of 10. My wife would probably be 8 at least though. It’s an interesting relationship

People believe in conspiracies because they can not handle the idea that profound event can have a simple explanation. To them, a profound event must have an equally profound explanation, otherwise they would be forced to admit the terrorizing truth that the world we live in is chaotic and unpredictable.

I am a psychologist and I understand paranoia very well. Deal with it in my job in daily basis and help a lot of people to overcome this problem. The way is not to tag the pacient. The way is to help him to verify hipoteses and learn to live with doubt. So if there is a theory like the Earth is flat, there's a lot of proof against it - other theories not so much. We keep an open mind and live with the doubt . There are conspiracies in the world. Right now in Brasil it is happening in politics. I would prefer you to analise each one of the theorys with objective arguments, Joe!

I always try to out conspiracy the person telling me the conspiracy.

Them: You know, the government is behind this.
Me: That is what the Illuminati wants you to think.
Them: Yeah....that's what I was thinking....
Me: Of course, the aliens are running them.

I have not run into a rabbit hole that the conspiracy theorist isn't willing to entertain.

Hey Joe! Great video once again! A soft 2 for my conspiracy count haha.

Any chance of a video about the Scharf-Cronin equation? Keep up the good work mate!

0.
None of these have ever been presented to me with enough viable data to make me believe them.
Several have been presented to me with enough data to make me look into them on my own, and in those cases, I have found the data incredibly flawed.

The night that Lady Diana died in the car accident I immediately thought that she was murdered. I still do!

“Just because you are paranoid doesn’t mean they aren’t after you”...

Ernest Hemingway

Hemingway’s friends thought he was paranoid because he believed the FBI was after him. He was right, the guy in a girl’s skirt running the FBI was after him. Einstein knew that feeling, as did John Lennon, because the same guy in a skirt was after them too...

I got 6, yikes. Well, guess I’m on my way to becoming a crazy uncle living in a cabin in the woods with a shotgun blaming stuff on the government

Joe, this video was so close to hitting a really valid point. In psychology we look at the internal and external locus of control, this video was super close to making this point. Please, everyone, look into this methodology and it will all make a bit more sense and to why some people are more susceptible to conspiracy theories.

I like Schemer's evolutionary take on this. There wasn't much selection against making type 1 errors in hominid evolution. But, there had to be huge selection pressure against making type 2 errors.
