Pursuit ends in crash, arrests on Interstate 95 in Providence

Providence police said Friday that four people were arrested following a pursuit that began in Massachusetts and ended in a crash on Interstate 95.

Providence Police Chief Oscar Perez said Massachusetts State Police were pursuing the car on I-95 and that Rhode Island State Police started following the car at the state line.

Providence police became involved when it reached the city.

The car crashed on Interstate 95 near the Elmwood Avenue exit.

Perez said three people in the car began running, crossed the train tracks and ended up on Narragansett Avenue in Cranston.

Providence police caught up with them. A fourth suspect was caught on the highway.

The people are suspects in the robbery of a FedEx driver in Harvard, Massachusetts on Thursday.

ITs NOT a "Robbery"....There was no instrument / weapon or threats made. It's "Larceny from a Person" or at the very most a strong armed robbery which is same as purse snatching. Which is why the 4 suspects were immediately releseased after booking. Such a waste of manpower.
