Glucose is broken during the process of respiration..as gluu is in chains..so when the bonds are broken..energy is released( As we know that when one substance combines with the other it requires energy) but when a subance is decomposed or broken it releases energy..remember the Decomposition and combination..rxn examples.. So, when energy is released after the break down of bonds...there are ADP and P(phosphate) in the blood...using that energy which is relased ADP and P form bond to form ATP and when oxygen is required in muscles the ATP goes there and breaks it bond which release energy....
