My name is Kaiya Pelletier and I am documenting my metal journey as I discover and listen to metal music for the first time ever. I'm in my mid 20's and I've been a singer songwriter and performer for over 10 years. Currently I live in Stillwater, Oklahoma and I am in the process of recording my 4th album. I have a one year old Bloodhound named Rusty who we lovingly call 'The Turd'. I love Mexican food, collecting Stephen King novels, collecting CD's, vinyl's and cassettes and my favorite movies are tied between Jurassic Park and Alien.

It's a magnificent album with very different styles of metal and very complete. Asami is one of the best singers both for her voice and for her presence on stage.

Electric Pentagram is an outstanding album. Left me wanting more, NOT less. Seeing their live versions made it even better.

I will never understand why having more songs or more time of good music for the same price can be a 'con'.
For me, if the music is good (and Lovebites music is the best), I don't care if it's 1h or 45 minutes: Give me more.

Great review! I understand your comment that the album might be a bit long, but on the other hand... there are no songs here you could cut! They're all excellent! The result is... more Lovebites! Always a good thing.

A masterpiece. In essence, Lovebites are unable to produce anything less than a masterpiece.
Incredible band, they encapsulate flawless perfection.

To me, Electric Pentagram is one of the best albums (male or female) in the history of metal in the world and their live performances are even better, just outstanding.

The Piano is played by one of the guitarrist, Miyako which is also the main composer. I am split between the first album Awakening from Abyss and the latest Judgement Day for which one is my favorite. Electric Pentagram is the longest one

I have never been dissuaded from purchasing an album due to its length. In fact, I find it a bargain to get MORE music for the same price as shorter albums. You don't have to listen to the whole thing in one sitting. That seems like a stupid thing to list as a con for purchasing any album. If you are paying $20 for music do you want to get 8 songs or 10 songs or 12 songs? Me? I want more songs, so give me 12.

"Swan Song" is a masterpiece, and Asami's vocals are just gorgeous, especially in the unforgettable chorus. For a native Japanese speaker not fluent in English, I give extra credit to her; as I would to any of my native English vocal heroes if they able were to pull off such a feat in Japanese.

FYI this band won the award for best power metal band of the year. Phenomenal album and musicians. One of the best all time.

Not just album of the week but one of the best metal albums in 2020 for sure...Their next album Judgment Day (2023) is maybe even better. These girls are special

LOVEBITES is a five-member all-female, Japanese heavy metal band with deep musicianship (plus classical music/piano background). They transcend gender, genre, and geography, with some 65+ songs in their discography. They won Metal Hammer Golden Gods Award for Best New Band (2018), toured with Dragonforce (2019), first female Japanese band to perform at Wacken Open Air (Germany) and others in Europe, and are unusual among Japanese bands in choosing to sing in English plus good lyrics (a daunting task for native Japanese speakers).They play a variety of heavy metal styles and are heavily influenced by NWBHM, especially Iron Maiden and the "big four" thrash metal bands. Lovebites is EXTREMELY underrated. Glad you decided to give it a try! Gotta support the girls in metal. Something interesting from Japan is the amount of metal bands made up completely by women. And they CAN play

Great review of Lovebites' 3rd full album ! Personally, I find the length of the LP just nice because of the quality and the musical variety it contained, certainly got my best bang for the buck. Another album that is certainly worth checking out is their latest one - "Judgement Day"

Electric Pentagram is my favorite album of the decade. I understand why some people think its too long, and I'm a stickler for that too. But the album is just long enough and exits at the perfect cut off point.
