Mandzukic is an icon for the Croatian people. He was a phenomenal player, who played for a whole host of big clubs, and made it to a Champion's League final.

Also, putting Fabregas as a hero instead of an icon is completely insane. The man is in the top 2 for most assists in the Prem, all time, and was a huge reason why Chelsea and Arsenal had success.
