Great video Eskie! You could try and see if the motor shaft is bent

I have this same model fan, but my friend took a screwdriver to the blades once. Interesting how yours is made in Georgia and mine is from California. Mine also has a different center cover. It still works fine and blows air, but it wobbles a little bit on low. It also looks bad because of the big chunks missing from the blades.

I love Tatung fans! I have one and I'm getting two more sometime

I plan doing that. Right now, it's out of commission due to no high speed (low speed still works). When I get it into the workshop, I plan on taking your advice.

Best bet is to disassemble and soak the bearings in oil. You should put the oil in on the bearings from the outside (on the front, put oil in from the blade side, also oil the oscillator pivot.

I have an LE-9 myself, it runs decent but I oil it every few years. The motors on these just rattle a bit, mine does.

I know this is an old video and you probably solved the issue already but if you haven't, it's probably BADLY worn bearings and the rotor is starting to touch the stator when turned on.
Are those just a pair of awsome slippers or are they the feet from a fursuit?
Btw lol @ 3:47 & 7:19

after re watching the video..if you still have this fan (i cant remember if you got rid of this one or not) id take it back apart again. and try smacking the motor shaft with a screw driver handle. (re alligings the bearings)  worked on my Coranado and many of my box fans.

Bum deal on the fan but good review. If you do a motor swap you should video the surgery.

Yikes. If that's the 9" Tatung that was on eBay for a while, I very briefly considered it. IIRC, the close ups were a bit foreboding. I'd say it's had a hard life, probably used in unideal environments like KFC or an auto shop.

Hey, what background music is that? Sounds like my kind of song.
