It seems everyone has a preference when it comes to their ultimate doughnut indulgence.
From filled, glazed, sprinkled and even the classic cinnamon sugar - those fluffy sweet-bread delights are something everyone can enjoy.
When it comes to the task of naming the best in Sydney however, we decided to take to the streets to first-hand visit, analyse and (most importantly) taste as many as we could! In the first episode of Testing The Best, we put 5 of the city's top-rated doughnut shops to the test to determine once and for all who came out on top.
Here’s where we visited:
Shop: Grumpy Donuts, Camperdown
What we tried: Vanilla glaze and Strawberry Somer Himpson.
Shop: Shortstop Coffee & Donuts, Barangaroo
What we tried: Vanilla bean glazed and Australian honey and sea salt.
Shop: Donut Papi, Redfern
What we tried: OG glaze and Ube Polvoron
Shop: Sweet Belem, Petersham
What we tried: Vanilla custard and strawberry and cream.
Shop: Don’t Doughnuts, Darlinghurst
What we tried: Madagascar vanilla glaze and Basque burnt cheesecake
