A quercus rubra is a red oak, native to the eastern United States. Some of those trees are pleached (I think the term is) where they are grown with their branches about 2m from the ground - useful for forming ‘hedges’ above a fence or in new developments where low branches would get in the way / get broken.

It wasn’t so much that you couldn’t find the latch on that gate, but the fact that you had already been through to set up your camera! And I bet if something had come out of that wood you would have found your energy again pretty quick! (Fight or flight)!!

I've not come across one of those before ie Restricted by way. Is this no longer a foot path. Are Tractors, Land Rovers, banned. At one time Byways were open to all vehicles
