DIY LightSaber with light and sound effects

I've made Arduino-based lightsaber with a bunch of effects! Turn on/off sounds, movie-like light effects, pulsations, HUM, SWING and HIT sounds. Also it has 6 colors and can make some flashes when you smash it! And a little bit more. Watch this video and read information in GyverSaber project page on GitHub.

► CAPABILITIES:
- Smooth turning on/off with lightsaber-like sound effect
- Randomly pulsing color (you can turn it off)
- Sounds:
- MODE 1: generated hum. Frequency depends on angle velocity of blade
- MODE 2: hum sound from SD card
- Slow swing - long hum sound (randomly from 4 sounds)
- Fast swing - short hum sound (randomly from 5 sounds)
- Bright white flash when hitting
- Play one of 16 hit sounds, when hit
- Weak hit - short sound
- Hard hit - long "bzzzghghhdh" sound
- After power on blade shows current battery level from 0 to 100 percent
- Battery safe mode:
- Battery is drain BEFORE TURNING ON: GyverSaber will not turn on, button LED will PULSE a couple of times
- Battery is drain AFTER TURNING ON: GyverSaber will be turned off automatically
► CONTROL BUTTON:
- HOLD - turn on / turn off GyverSaber
- TRIPLE CLICK - change color (red - green - blue - yellow - pink - ice blue)
- QUINARY CLICK - change sound mode (hum generation - hum playing)
- Selected color and sound mode stored in EEPROM (non-volatile memory)

I was already in the process of purchasing parts to build a lightsaber until I saw this one. I then started buying parts to build this one. I have almost all the parts. Perhaps when I'm done, I'll post my own video. I'm impressed with the effects. I think the hilt can look more realistic so I'm combing your effects and my hilt design. this is really amazing! I cant wait to build my own, as I am a lightsaber enthusiast, but purchasing them especially with sound is very expensive and limiting. I have seen a lot of different techniques used to make handles, so I believe the first one I make for myself will not only be my second neopixel and sound saber, but the first one I got 100% control over the design! I cant decide yet which I am going to make because of tool restraints as well as the amount of different sabers there are (I am stuck between Vader, Revan or Dooku for a sith saber, or luke's or the trilogy saber for a jedi handle, or even just my own design to test my skills as a creator and with the tools I have). Thank you for making this tutorial!

This lightsaber has the best blade
Also the red blade flashing gives off an unstable effect on the blade

Try wrapping the led strips in thin foam sheets and then cellophane. It will give an even light distribution and diffusion, and the strip won't wobble around
