I love how clear he is with his explanations and the care he takes to not be misquoted. Physicists being misquoted deliberately by the media is how the whole "god particle" mess happened.

Physics reached a point where you have to be careful if your still ion the realms of natural science or already in philosphy. If you just developed an new description that comes in every aspect to the same experimental results the difference to all other description is not part of physics, its just a philosphical interpretation. So unless we do not have an experimantal test for this "universal quantum computer" it is not a matter of physics, but of philosophy.

Building an entire "reality" within a video game from ones and zeros - all the places that feel like a place, the getting from here to there, all the actions that our minds can grasp, all the consequences we can understand, the physics engine and so on.... how is that so different from the reality we experience every moment of every day emerging from the quantum "bits" and "q-bits" at work around us?
