Yeah, I don't think Tom will die. Especially since Jeff Fowler loves Shadow so much, he knows Shadow will redeem himself. Him killing Tom or being responsible for Tom's death would hurt that. Also, Sonic seems angry to the point of doing something reckless, like working with Eggman. If Tom did die, he would act impulsive and want to kill Shadow, but he's not.

My theory is, tom was in the same room where the vortex was happening, where Sonic Tails and Knuckles were tied up, and is shouting for Sonic not to die.

This would ruin Shadow's redemption in the eyes of the audience. Once you pull something like that, it's pretty hard to go back.

Sometimes, Paramount has attached certain voice clips to certain scenes and re animated the character's lips for the trailer, to add to making you think something will happen when it's actually not going to happen at all, so Sonic saying "What did you do" and Shadow saying "What I had to" could be said in entirely different scenes.

My theory: Shadow does kill Tom just to make Sonic know how it feels to lose someone who he deeply cares about and that revenge is the only solution. After a harrowing fight, Sonic has a chance to kill Shadow, which Shadow even encourages so Sonic would be no different from him and put him out of his misery in his grieving for Maria. Sonic strongly wants to, but brings himself not to because he knows it won’t bring Tom back and that Tom wouldn’t want that. As he witnesses Sonic go grieve over Tom along with Maddie, Shadow is left surprised and remorseful for his actions and realizes Sonic shouldn’t have to suffer the same pain he has, so he resurrects Tom with the Chaos Emeralds, possibly at the cost of his own life.

All I'm really focusing on is how the trailer begins with Tom telling Sonic how proud he is that he didn't change his heart, and ends with Sonic looking pissed off and ready to throw hands for real.

Sorry for the No Way Home spoilers, I felt like I needed to get that out of my chest

This is what I gather, at first I thought Tom may have been getting arrested and he was yelling Sonic, but then after looking again I see that it could possibly be other agents knocked out next to Tom, but then there is a scene that shows Sonic, Tails, & Knuckles looking sad and the frame slowly pulling away as if they are watching an ambulance pull away like it’s done in all other movie cliches, and the part where Sonic and Tails are talking about this is a bad idea, if you look at the reflection of the black unmarked police tahoe, it looks as if there is an ambulance is there, leaving to believe Tom may get seriously or critically hurt somewhere mid movie 🤔

Edit: 1:29 you say these are two different scenes but shadow's mouth isn't moving in the rain part so maybe that's just for cool effect

Tom is the only humanoid protagonist in the Sonic franchise I ever cared about. He's respectful and, of course, Sonic's best human friend!


I like him better than Chirs Thorndyke and, of course, f***ing Elise, so I hope he dosn't get killed off.
