OK, I got mine mounted and did first technical test just tonight. Here my first takeaways:
1) You need to get the whole thing perfectly balanced to avoid the post moving uncontrolled when holding the post upright and moving it as a true steadicam (RS2 will keep the horizon)
2) Moving from verical post (steadicam mode) into briefcase or even underslung is a totally different thing regarding movements and controlling the post.
3) Actively supporting the arm movements with your body becomes even more important with the heavider payload.
Conclusion: The RS2 does not make things easier, adding more freedom of movements, but it provides exactly this additional movement. Practicing is key!

I am blown away with Your setup mate. Thank You for inspiration. I am just starting with video and photography - how ever people like You are making things much easier for beginners. I am sure this setup will work perfect with my Sony A1 and NINJA V - hooked up to it

Got the Flycam Redking a while ago, I got it because it was the ‘budget’ option for better video work. Well….I’ve done some hefty gigs and now have some capital to add to my rig. So, thanks to you I now know where I’m going to invest that into, cheers!

I was on the fence for a year or so. Got the RS2 a few month ago - awesome, but heavy weight with fully rigged S1H.
Today, the Proaim vest II set with arm and flycam arrived. First experimenting has been very good: no more footsteps visible!
Only keeping the horizon will require lots of practicing.
Will order the missing parts over the weekend to complete towards your set.
More than exited!

yes, good move!, the 3/8th screws are what are used on tripods to connect the heads to the column, so are definitely strong enough, esp. for the lighter weight cameras you are putting on them (eg: for most still cameras this 3/8th thread is enough, but for Large format monorails, they use a 5\8th thread!!).

Dude this is crazy, I've got almost exactly the same setup as yours. Glad to see other people are catching on this trend.

I'm frm India and I bought a Weebill S gimbal 4 months ago. After trying the Arri Minity setup inspired by what James Matthews did, I felt that setup was straining my arm to exhaustion. I now honestly must thank you for the best budget setup with this vest to not lose hope on the idea. Because, both Tilta Float and DF Thanos Pro II are way expensive here for me.

Had to add a few zip ties for extra support on the base plate for the v mount battery, other than that, Perfect build idea! Thanks!

I built it to test it with a Bmpcc 4k with a DZO lens 20-70mm. It is quite heavy and a little bit exhausting with these equipment but worked just right. Definitely, like the Tilta Float, there is no way around, the user have to workout and strengthen the lower back. Thank you for posting an affordable solution.

I am definitely going to buy the pro aim gear. I have a larger budget, so I am going for the maximum comfort option because I will be shooting longer events and scenes. This video provided some beneficial information. Thank you. I liked and subscribed because you were forthcoming with your statement that "you are not going to ask people to like and subscribe (it is not about gathering followers). It is all about networking and knowledge."
I look forward to seeing you soon.
