Uh...so I maybe stuck their dead bodies in Karlach's inventory so we could take them to the city with us. Because they deserved to make it.

The best achievement I’ve got was the “u saved all the tieflings u could”. I could not afford losing alfira or Arabella

I was happy that Rolan, Cal, Lia, Zevlor, Dammon Dannis and Bex, Alfira and Larkissa survive but it really hurt hard when I saw Guex, Ashrak and Ikaron dead there. Ashrak was such a sweet man, helping the kids learn to defend themselves and I think Ikaron wanted to join the flaming fist because i saw one note for recruitment where he guards in the grove and also he cares soo much for the Tieflings and Guex...gosh...he seemed like a carefree adorable lil man... I wish we could have saved all of them..

At least you get to save most of the important ones. I oculdn't bring myself to play an Evil campaign yet because I can't afford to lose Dammon :(

Yes, exactly! Wish I could save Zevlor too, but I entered my fight with Ketheric too soon and didn't know the pods would activate and he's in one of them etc

Don't know if I'll forget that feeling of riding high on my heroics and deciding to skip the town for some exploration. Stumble upon wayy too many teiflings, realize they are *the* teiflings.

Classic DnD "the beloved, wholesome villagers you just saved all lay cold at your feet with no explanation."

BG3 should have been called tiefling babysitter simulation

That’s why you need to convince Rolan to protect them as well.

But if Rolan and his siblings stay with the camp less of them die and more make it to Last Light. Plus there are more saved at moonrise towers. So it’s not all a loss.

My wife and I were so sad to see this happen 🥲 Next play through she reverse pickpocketed all the tieflings, even the kids, to give them potions, scrolls, weapons, armor, etc and it didn't matter. Always sad to come across them like this.

I remember tearing up when I played a second time and remeeting all of the tieflings. Especially Asharak. His line when you give the children a pep talk "Good, I like it better when they smile" is so SO gut wrenching in retrospect. Even at his lowest he was still trying to cheer the kids up and they had to watching him get tortured to death.

It DOES matter what you do. In fact there is an achievement for saving all the tieflings.

You can't ever save everyone. But the fact you try always matters. I went into the game completely blind and i started playing as tiefling, so i immediately formed extreme bond with them all. And the fact that some of them sing your praises ever since you help defeat the goblins at the grove's gate and somd are incredibly cold towards you no matter what made them all so much more endearing to me, not just NPCs in the background but individuals with unique motivations and personalities. Every single NPC i couldn't save hurt like losing a close friend. Seeing Arabella orphaned after i witnessed just how much her parents care about her.... It seriously broke me.

My character in that moment:"Alright fuck it, NOW is personal mister Thorm!"

I am so sad we can’t save Arashak…it’s so sad that they killed him specifically bc he was trying to calm down the children 😢

Just wanna point out, at least you dont find them as undead and have to kill them

This is part of the beauty of Baulders gate - not the killing of innocence but the realism that heroes can’t always win no matter hard hard they try and that you truly can’t save everyone in life. One of the first games to truly capture that ever made.

Act 1 was my paladin chance to be a hero to help those in need, meets karlach and makes friends with all his travel companions, act 2 He starts to slowy crack, those he helped and sworn to defend are being slowly hunted and killed, his now friends are being pushed to the brink, a paladins of the ancients a warrior of life and joy, watched as his friends are lied to, used, are thrown away. it sure can being the hate out of someone who only wants to see the innocent prosper. Act 3 Rage, RAGE
