The defense chiefs of South Korea, U.S. and Japan are expected to hold talks in Singapore next week.
Japan's Yomiuri Shimbun reported on Thursday that the three allies are ironing out plans for a tri-lateral meeting in the sidelines of next week's Shangri-la Dialogue.
The three defense chiefs are expected to release a joint statement on North Korea's ever-growing nuclear and missile threats and on increasing cooperation in the region.
The report said they plan to meet next Saturday on the Shangri-la forum's first day.
