Step 1: Select the quick select tool.
Step 2: Start selecting the object or person you want to keep
Step 3: If the quick select tool over selects your object Hold the ALT key while selecting the part that was overselected.
Step 4: Zoom in and check all your edges to ensure the weren't cut out by the quick select tool and fix if necessary.
Step 5: Click the select tab and then scroll down and click "Select & Mask"
Step 6: Go to the "Properties" section on the right and scroll all the way down to "Output to" and the scroll to "New Layer with Layer Mask" and click OK
"Step 7: Go to Layers and Delete the background layer and the original layer. (The only layer left is the new layer you created with your quick select.
Step 8: Click on the Eraser tool and start cleaning your edges by running the eraser too just on the outside of your edges. Be sure to adjust the eraser size and harness level. I like to keep the hardness level around 50% so the edges come out more smooth. If you have small strans of hair you will need to reduce the eraser size to 1 and get to work. Your hands may get tired!!!
