Why Lightning Storm is a Staple

Lightning Storm is a very heavily played staple, but why is it that people prefer to play Lightning Storm over cards like Harpie's Feather Duster or Raigeki?

Well, also the fact you can have 3 lightning storm while harpies is limited to one, is another reason

LS is more of a backrow removal, given how many players prefer to summon on defense to avoid that effect

Lightning storm is the equivalent of telling your opponent to go f*** themselves going second..

I used it a lot when Master Duel started since that pack basically gave everyone a copy. And it was just dead in my hand since I never drew it turn 1 when I would control no cards.

Meanwhile opponent is controlling 2 monsters of different attributes while Under Gozen Match, somebody call DistatCoder.

New Series Idea: Staple Breakers. Videos on what could Irrelevance staples without having to modify the cards themselves.

personally I brick more with lightning storm than feather duster because I don't always open with it and I need to go second for it. feather duster at the least is a 1 for 1 if they have just one back row or field spell

Imagine someone actually passing on Apo, DPE, Skill Drain, and Gozen Match.

I still hate seeing that card in my hand almost any time it's not my very first turn and I'm going second. I still use it, but the whole thing about becoming a brick as soon as I have anything face up is so incredibly annoying. I lose count of how many times I need Raigeki or Feather Duster and I draw Lightning Storm instead.

Also, the instance where You need a raigeki or a duster the most is when You have no cards on field anyway

LS is more Versatile bit technically Raigeki and Duster are better because of the restriction of its activation requirements. If you draw it in a bricky Duel then it is dead. Also it is only useful going 2nd, plus most boards set up negates

is no one going to notice that skill drain and gozen match is face up meanwhile DPE and Apollo are just chilling

My Evil Twins deck got Twin Twisters, Raigeki, Lightning Storm, Harpy Duster, and other staples in that deck.

Somewhere in the dephts of my mind I remember needing to discard as a cost. Must be trippin'

In my case. I use one to bait out a negate if I know there's one. Then follow up with the other. If they negate both. Then I can adjust accordingly or push through with my combos if I know they're out of ways to stop me.

that's why I've just stuck to running two solem judgements in any deck I run. nothing is worse then setting up your board only for it get destroyed at no cost.
