I had a theory with this kind of hair, I smashed a glass of water in a glass, and photograph the spillage, rotate in the paint tool and trace it.
It kinda works as long as you understand the shadow grouping

I usually didn't pay much attention to the technique, if I like it, I like it. So it's nice to see a study like this.
