Ladybird stole our hearts when we saw her sitting in the kennels at Kern County Animal Services. Recently returned after she had been adopted from the shelter her eyes pleaded with us to pick her. So we did!

Ladybird was returned to the shelter through no fault of her own. She loved her new family, adored the children in the home and had perfect house manners. Landlord issues forced her family to take her back to the shelter. The issue? Her breed. Simply because of her “look” the landlord judged. When will people learn that appearances don’t equal character!

Ladybird has proven that looks are only skin deep. This girl is a gentle, affectionate, lo-key, couch potato. She loves humans so much she wants to be with them as much as possible. She’ll never be content just left in a yard and will make attempts to find her people if she is left outside unsupervised. She can clear most low to moderate level fencing and will dig if left unattended. Yard dogs rarely have fulfilling lives so we can say we blame her. Ladybird is choosy with her canine pals so the appropriate introductions are a must when meeting new dog friends.
