ABOUT THE LESSON 📚
I think we can all agree that protecting the environment is important. This is something we read about, listen to, and discuss in our daily conversations. Therefore, I want to teach you some useful vocabulary related to environmental protection.

Learning these words and phrases will help you improve your comprehension and develop your overall English fluency. Below, I've listed to articles discussed in this lesson along with the vocabulary. I encourage you to continue reading if you would like to learn more, and I believe this will also help you continue to build your vocabulary.

Here are the vocabulary words from the lesson.

1. Marine – related to the sea
2. Sanctuary – protection or a safe place, especially from someone or something being chased or hunted
3. Remote – far away from any populated area
4. Conservation – the protection of plants, animals, and natural area, especially from human activity
5. Threatened – to cause harm or damage to something or someone
6. Rebuild – to build something again after it has been damaged
7. Habitat – the natural environment in which a plant or animal usually lives
8. Native – plants or animals that grow naturally in a place
9. Sequester – to separate or store harmful substances, such as carbon, in a way that keeps it safe
10. Mother Nature – refers to the natural environment

11. Crisis – a time of great disagreement or suffering

12. To proliferate – increase a lot and suddenly
13. Deforestation – the cutting down of trees in a large area or the destruction of forests by people

14. Destruction (noun) – the act of destroying something
15. To Destroy (verb) – to damage something so badly that it cannot be used

16. Vital – extremely important

To curb (something) – to control or limit something that is not wanted
