I do think the ability of German to build usable compound words is wonderful. In English we have used mostly foreign roots, nothing wrong with that but it means that unfamiliar readers won't immediately understand compounded words. There was a prejudice towards anything Latin or Greek in English, since at one time educated people read Latin.

I totally agree with you!! That's why I love the German language: because it is really creative ♡
Spanish is my mother tongue and we cannont do as many compositions as German speakers do.

Yep, totally yes. Sometimes it's so funny for me to learn those new words; it's also a way to learn a new way of thinking, because of changing of the meaning; it's awesome. In Bulgarian we have compound words too but not so frequent like in German. I even can't remember a Bulgarian compound word right now. :D

Griechisch ist auch eine kreative Sprache, weil Griechisch Kompositum Wort können machen.

Man muss die Möglichkeiten aber auch nutzen und pflegen. Aus dem Motor wurde der E-Motor, doch heutzutage schaffen es die Deutschen nicht einmal mehr, aus einem Buch ein E-Buch zu bilden. Lebendige Neubildung von Wörtern, Erweiterung und Änderung der Wortbedeutung? Fehlanzeige.

Deutsch ist nicht kreativ. Keine Sprache ist kreativ. Die Sprecher müssen kreativ sein. Kreativität bekommt man nicht vorgesetzt, dafür muss man selbst etwas tun.

Im Englischen werden Komposita zwar nicht ganz so intensiv verwendet, aber sie kommen doch recht häufig vor und sind, wie bei allen germanischen Sprache, ein Merkmal der Sprache. Die schönen deutschen Komposita, die zitiert werden, sind hingegen immer die gleichen: Zeitlupe, Augenblick, Nacktschnecke. Keine Frage, sie sind wunderbar, stechen jedoch aus der Masse öder Zusammensetzungen wie Fußboden, Herdplatte oder Wasserkocher hervor.
