What the Tibetan community needs to understand is that it’s part of Western culture and tradition to make jokes about anyone or anything. No one is considered immune to criticism, or ridicule. It’s an ancient custom. Deal with it.

As a huge fan of Lewis Spears, and as someone who deeply respects his character, egardless of whether or not you think this is a good joke, protesting against it is protesting against free speech. If someone thinks what Dalai Lama did was fucked up, it isn't hate or racism to joke about it. You may dissagree, but this is democracy, and i fucking love it

I’m all for free speech. And this dude has the right to practice his freedom of speech, irrespective of him being right or wrong.

I do not agree with my fellow Tibetan brothers and sisters for forcing him to stop speaking about Dalai Lama.
I know it’s hurtful to hear such derogatory remarks about our spiritual leader.

But our action is giving wrong message to the world…our duty is to spread the truth and try to explain to people, who are unfamiliar with our cultural and traditional norms, how this edited video is being misinterpreted.

His joke about Dalai Lama in the beginning may have come from his sincere observation and perception of video clip. But right now he is just taking advantage of the attention and engagement he is getting. If he is sincere and has genuine concern for Tibetans. He would have already done his research on the incident.

So, my fellow Tibetans and followers of Dalai Lama please stop wasting your energy and time on him.
